Dua Lipa Announced New Music With a Trippy Mirror Selfie
It's giving Liv Tyler in Stealing Beauty.
Ladies and gents, a new era of Dua Lipa is upon us. After totally wiping her Instagram (twice), the pop star is confirming what we had been hoping to be true: new music is on the way. Lipa shared a trippy image to her Instagram on Wednesday — it's currently the sole snap on an empty page — promoting a new single titled "Houdini," which is set to drop on Nov. 9.
In the cover, Lipa gazes into the mirror and sticks out her tongue which touches the reflection of her own in the mirror. The singer's freshly dyed red hair is barely visible and she kept her glam super simple, opting for a swipe of mascara and a subtle peach lip. She also added three square-shaped silver hoop earrings
"HUDINI ⛓️," she captioned the post referencing the name of the new single. "NOV 9TH 11PM GMT PRE ORDER IN BIO."
Earlier this week, in posts that have since been erased during the rest of social media purge, Lipa also shared a video of herself with a gold key in her mouth, which now points to the name of her new track, a reference to famous magician Harry Houdini.
The last time Lipa released an album (of course, she's since dropped singles like "Dance the Night" and collabs with Meghan Thee Stallion and Elton John), it was March 2020 and the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The performer dropped Future Nostalgia, which would go on to win Grammys and produce major chart-topping hits including "Levitating" and "Don't Start Now" (not to mention save us all from absolutely boredom during the lockdown).

Once the world reopened, Lipa embarked on her Future Nostalgia World Tour, during which she performed in hundreds of cities clad in neon unitards and bespoke Versace creations.
