All About the Eta Aquarid Meteor Shower and What It Means for Your Zodiac Sign

The Eta Aquarids is set to peak on May 5 and May 6

May is bringing flowers and showers as the Eta Aquarid meteor shower lights up the sky this month.

The upcoming meteor shower occurs at the beginning of May annually and is set to peak on May 5 and May 6 this year, according to Space.com.

Similar to last month’s Lyrids, known for its “fast and bright meteors,” the Eta Aquarids are known for their speed, traveling at about 148,000 mph.

The Eta Aquarids are viewable in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres during the pre-dawn hours, but even if you aren’t lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the shower, you will likely still feel its affects.

To determine how the Eta Aquarid meteor shower will affect each zodiac sign, PEOPLE spoke with astrologer and bestselling author Lisa Stardust to get their readings.

Here’s what the meteor shower could mean for you, based on your zodiac sign.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

During this meteor shower, Stardust says Aries will “feel a wave of abundance and prosperity sweep through their lives, giving them the ability to enhance their lives for the better.” Stardust adds that the “sky’s the limit for the Fire sign,” as they “thrive” during the Eta Aquarids.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Feel the power, Taurus! Stardust says you’ll have a boost of confidence during this time, which will help you lean into your “innermost desires” during the meteor shower. “It will be a time in which they can connect with their goals and bring them into reality,” Stardust adds.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Gemini, get ready for the exciting new season ahead. Stardust notes that you’ll have a great opportunity to “align” with your dreams and use them as a “starting point to kick off” the desires of your heart. “It might take the twin star a minute to connect with a vision, but they will in time,” Stardust adds.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)

Cancer signs will be turning back the clock as Stardust says the meteor shower will give you the chance to “connect with friends and meditate on the past while making plans for the future” with them. “It will be a time of healing and affirming former relationships for the water sign,” Stardust adds.

Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)

Get ready for a big career move, Leo. Stardust suggests you’ll see “sweeping changes” in your career, which will push you “forward in the path of success.” Stardust posits that you’ll have a time of victory as you succeed in “everything that [you] put [your] energy and heart into professionally.”

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Grab your passport, Virgo. Stardust foresees a much-needed vacation in your future, whether that be a trip locally or a staycation. “This will allow them to be free and feel it so they can have peace of mind in their time away from the office,” Stardust says.

Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

This is your moment, Libra. According to Stardust, you’re going to feel like you’re “one with the universe” during this time. Libras' "intuition will be soaring, giving them insights that will help move them forward on their path towards greatness,” Stardust adds.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Get connected, Scorpio. Stardust suggests you use this time to connect with your partner on a deeper level, which will give you the “chance to reaffirm'' your relationship and “strengthen” your bond. “It's a time of reconnection and union for the water sign,” Stardust adds.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22 – Dec. 21)

“Sagittarius is going to find an opportunity to create a new daily routine for themselves that aligns with their current habits,” Stardust foresees, noting it will give the Fire sign the “chance to balance between their personal and professional lives at this time.”

Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)

Capricorns’ creativity will be at an all-time high during this time, which Stardust says will allow “them to take on new endeavors and projects that speak to their talents.” Stardust adds that the sign's “innate talents and abilities will shine and be seen by others” as a result.

Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)

Make some time for your family, Aquarius. According to Stardust, you’ll experience a deep desire to connect with loved ones on a deeper level. “Even if they are busy, Aquarius will make family time a top priority,” Stardust says.

Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)

Take a breather, Pisces. While you may feel like you’re “succeeding at work,” Stardust notes that you’re really “burning the candle at both ends,” which will leave you feeling exhausted. “They need to find a moment to slow down and relax,” Stardust adds. “Rejuvenation and rest is key for the water sign to regain momentum and energy.”
