Despite their mansions, it’s true that celebrities are just like us (kind of), and are trying to make the most of life in quarantine. Whether it’s dealing with boredom, homeschooling kids, or beauty woes, we’re all facing many of the same issues.

Eva Longoria is one celeb who hasn’t been shy about her at-home situation, having already showed off her favourite quick fix for covering grey hair. This weekend she was at it again, sharing with her nearly 8 million Instagram followers a more permanent solution for greys.

The former “Desperate Housewives” star took to her bathroom, where she filmed a short video as she touched up her roots. In the clip, Longoria, who is a longtime L'Oreal Paris ambassador, demonstrates how she’s tackling her grey hair with a little help from a box of home hair dye.

“I’ll be honest - for a second I thought, ‘OK greys, I’m ready to see you. I can handle this.’ But I’m not. I am not ready for this much grey,” the 45-year-old admitted on camera. “I don’t think there’s ever going to be a better before and after.”

Using a box of L'Oreal Paris Excellence Crème, Longoria walks fans through the entire dye process from start to finish.

Available in over 30 shades, this triple care system primes hair for gentle application and even coverage with a ceramide pre-colour treatment, keratine colour crème and collagen-enriched conditioner.

Longoria starts by working the colour into her roots from back to front, then massaging the dye into her hair before waiting a half hour for the dye to take hold. Once the 30 minutes are up, it’s time to rinse and condition the colour-treated hair.

“This is my favourite part,” Longoria says as she works the leave-in treatment into her locks. “I love the smell of this conditioner.”

After applying the finishing treatment it’s on to blow drying, which Longoria admits isn’t her strong suit. She does however see it as a moment for herself, which is all part of making “me time” a priority during these stressful times.

“Self-care is self-worth,” she adds. “Now more than ever, we’re all worth it.”
