Even the British royals are helping their parents navigate technology during the pandemic. In a preview for a new documentary about Princess Anne in honor of her forthcoming 70th birthday, the Queen's only daughter gives her mom some assistance in logging onto Webex.

"Can you see everybody? You should have six people on your screen." Anne says in the behind-the-scenes footage of the two royal women dialing in to a conference call.

"Yes, well, I can see four anyway," the Queen responds from Windsor. Anne decides that's good enough for the 94-year-old monarch.

"Ok fair enough. Actually, you don't need me," she jokes. "You know what I look like."

For Anne, technology has allowed for her to keep in touch with family and colleagues during the pandemic lockdown, but she doesn't see it as a substitute for in-person interaction.

“With online technology, being in touch is one thing, but it’s not quite the same, the ability to meet people, that’s what makes the difference,” she says in the program.

The Princess Royal also makes it clear that she has no interest in joining social media.

“I mean, I know what Twitter is but I wouldn’t go anywhere near it if you paid me frankly,” she says.

“But that’s a slightly different issue.”

Anne: The Princess Royal At 70 premieres tonight in the UK on ITV. At this point, it's unclear if or when it will air in the U.S.
