This Everlane long puffer is my winter must-have — and it's 30% off
As much as I hate to admit it: winter is coming.
Two years ago, after a particularly frigid November dog walk, I raced home and made a purchase that would change my winter life forever. Enter Everlane's ReNew Long Puffer.
This jacket has changed my perspective on winter — and lucky for you, Everlane is currently having a rare sale with 30% off all sweaters and outerwear. Check out my review of my favourite puffer, which is on sale until Nov. 13 at 11:59 p.m. PST, below.

The details
This water-resistant parka, featuring oversized button flap pockets and a drawstring hood, is made from Everlane's technical 100% recycled fabric and filled with 100% recycled high-performance Primaloft insulation to keep you warm through any inclement weather.
Made from 60 renewed plastic bottles and hitting just above the knee, this jacket provides full coverage — which is essential for Canadian winters. If you're not a huge fan of the straight fit, this puffer has a hidden drawstring waist to give a flattering cinch.
The oversized button flap pockets provide both style and function, but the best hidden feature of this jacket is the hidden angled pockets behind the flap-style pockets, which are fleece-lined to keep you warm and cozy.

First impressions
When I first tried this jacket on, I was surprised by the sheer weight of it. This definitely doesn't impact my love of the jacket but it's worth noting for anyone looking for something more lightweight. Wearing the coat around my (heated) apartment proved this jacket is definitely warming. Within minutes, I was overheating but I knew it would be the perfect solution for my cold weather grumpiness.
When it comes to winter, every detail matters in terms of outerwear — and Everlane has really thought of every little thing. Whether it's the hidden tight cuffs at the wrists or the fleece pockets, this puffer ensures your teeth will never chatter from winter cold again.
As someone who stands at 5', I'm often wary of long jackets because they tend to drown me and never fit correctly. I don't know what magic was used to create this jacket, but despite my short frame, this jacket still works. While it's definitely long on me, I feel perfectly enveloped in warmth all winter and find I can still move freely despite the jacket hitting right at my knee.
In terms of sizing, I sized down according to recommendations in reviews, but I wish I had kept my usual size. Despite the oversized nature of this puffer, the construction is quite structured due to an inner-warming layer and I find it challenging to fit thicker sweaters under this jacket. That said, this puffer is so warm, I don't need my heaviest, warmest sweaters while wearing it — and I live in the very-cold Midwest.

'My favourite winter jacket!'
With more than 1,300 reviews and a 4.5 star rating, it turns out I'm not the only one who loves this jacket thanks to its thoughtful details and protection from the cold.
"My favourite winter jacket! I’m normally a size M and a M fit perfectly (I like it roomy/oversized for layering and it didn’t swallow me). It's long enough to cover the butt and keep my thighs warm," shares one shopper.
"I love the hidden cuff sleeve to keep breezes from coming in, the front pockets and hidden pockets behind them, and the hidden cinch waist. Better than any other winter jacket I’ve ever owned!"
"This jacket is extremely comfortable and seriously warm. I live in a very cold area and this makes me feel super at ease walking around outside in below freezing temperatures," adds another.
"I feel very pulled-together when I put this on. It's also very easy to clean off, which is key in the winter when there's road salt on everything. I've been recommending this coat to everyone!"
'This is a classic I will wear for years'
Not only is the jacket easy to clean, it's also incredibly stylish. While you can size down in the fit, reviews recommend sticking with your true size if you're looking to add more winter layers.
"I hike every morning in very cold mountain air. I needed a coat that would fit my needs and this one hit the mark. Lots of excellent details in the quality of the zipper, the two sets of pockets and the snug cuff," wrote one shopper.
"Even though a lot of reviewers said the coat runs really large, I wanted plenty of room for layers and don't like a tight fit when I'm hiking so I bought my usual large and I'm happy with it."
"I adore this chic coat — what can I say? It’s perfect. Incredible quality, love the pockets with both top and side access, and the warm fleece lining," adds another.
"The small fits true to size, comfortable with just a thin shirt or light sweater underneath, and incredibly warm. This is a classic I will wear for years."
