Let's face it—after the past 18 months, we're all just searching for glimpses of joy wherever we can find them. And given how much time we've all been spending in our homes lately, it's no surprise that Tidying Up With Marie Kondo has endured, even though there have been no new episodes since it debuted in early 2019. Now, finally, Marie Kondo is returning to Netflix with a brand new series that'll see her expand her method into new settings.

The new show, which is titled Sparking Joy With Marie Kondo, will take a broader approach than the original, which focused on Kondo encouraging families to organize and declutter their homes. In Sparking Joy, she'll apply her KonMari Method™ to "businesses, relationships and communities" across one small town that is "deserving of joy and change".

Per the synopsis, "the impacts of tidying are delightfully surprising, emotional and transformative in the lives of the people Marie meets." Sparking Joy will also allow viewers more insight into Kondo's own home life, featuring appearances from her family, her home, and "how she sparks joy in her daily life." Further details about the show, including the name of the small town, are being kept under wraps.

Kondo first introduced her method to the world in her 2010 book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, and has since become an international sensation. On her website, she shares tips on how to apply her decluttering method not only to physical spaces, but to relationships and other aspects of life.

Sparking Joy with Marie Kondo premieres on August 31 on Netflix, and we're already counting down the days.
