Kim Cattrall’s ‘And Just like That’ Cameo Is Here!

The season finale of And Just Like That... is upon us, and with it, the long-awaited return of Kim Cattrall to the series. The actor had previously refused to be a part of the reboot, but she eventually agreed to film one scene for the show, but she didn't want to be physically with her former costars while she did it. That gives the filmmakers limited options for a cameo, but many people believed that she would have a phone call with Carrie and the actors would just record their parts separately. And that's exactly what happened.

In the episode, Carrie is setting up to have her final dinner party in her apartment before selling it, and she's referring to the night as The Last Supper. (Fitting, no?) Before guests arrive, Samantha calls Carrie with some news. Here's exactly how the phone call went down.

Carrie: Hello, London. What's shaking, lady?

Samantha: My flight's three hours delayed, Carrie, I won't be able to make it there in time.

Carrie: In time for what?

Samantha: The Last Supper! Miranda and Charlotte told me all about it. I was going to surprise you.

Carrie: Oh my gosh, well you did. I'm very surprised.

Samantha: Well the fog finally lifted but the crew? Maxed out. Oh, I'm fucking furious.

Carrie: Don't worry, we'll just get together tomorrow.

Samantha: Honey, I just left Heathrow. I was flying back on the first flight in the morning.

Carrie: Wait a minute, you were going to fly all the way to New York for an overnight?

Samantha: Well, it is your apartment and I have to pay my respects. So put me on speaker. Go ahead, put me on speaker and hold up that phone.

Carrie: Alright, you're on speaker.

Samantha: Thank you for everything, you fucking fabulous flat.

Carrie: Samantha, do you have British accent?

Samantha: Who's Samantha? This is Annabel Bronstein. I'm from India. Ta, cheerio, and have a great night.

Carrie: Ta. Bye.

Now, if you don't remember, this is a deep cut inside joke from the original Sex and the City. In the episode where it's so hot in New York that Samantha pretends to be a member at SoHo House, it's Annabelle Bronstein's card she finds that allows her to access the pool. And she has to pretend to be Annabelle the whole day, to disastrous effect.

It's a fun callback, and while it would have been incredible for Kim to actually be in the Last Supper scene, this is a pretty good compromise.
