A Fan-Favorite Item Is Coming Back to the McDonald’s Menu This Week
But not for long.
McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets are an absolute fan favorite thanks to their juicy interiors and crispy exteriors. And for a long time, the OG McNugget was the only one you could get from the chain (at least in the U.S.).
That all changed with the introduction of the Spicy Chicken McNugget in 2020. And after a few brief visits back on menus in 2021, 2022, and 2023, they’re back again for a limited time. It's official—McDonald's has confirmed that the nugget variation will be available at participating locations starting this week.
The Spicy Chicken McNuggets Return to McDonald's
Regular Chicken McNuggets are made with a ground chicken mixture coated in a light batter, then covered in a breading with celery and white pepper and finally a thick tempura batter. The Spicy Chicken McNuggets have the same white ground chicken base and are described by the brand as “breaded in a crispy coating, flavorfully spiced with a blend of aged cayenne and chili pepper.”
Starting Nov. 4, you can get the spicy nuggets in a 6-piece, 10-piece, 20-piece, or 40-piece order. However, as in years past, they'll only be available in select markets, including Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, Memphis, and New York.
Fans online are excited about the return of the product, though many have expressed hope that the spicy nuggets are here for both a good time and a long time.
Commenters on Snackolator’s Instagram post said, “Finally back in Phoenix! So excited to grab some!” and, “Yes! They're the best nuggets for me.”
Due to the limited release of the nuggets, you’ll have to check in with your own location to see if it has them in stock. If your location doesn’t have the spicy nuggets on the menu, you can still get your spicy-chicken craving satisfied at Wendy's, Shake Shack, Popeyes, or KFC.
