If you spend time on social media, then you’ve probably seen the “little treat” phenomenon make the rounds. The idea is exactly as it sounds: treating yourself to a little snack or drink, sometimes as a reward for accomplishing a task and sometimes for no specific reason at all.

It turns out I’ve been doing exactly that long before little treats became a viral concept. As a food writer who has an insatiable sweet tooth and is constantly looking for new products, my days have always been filled with treat-myself moments. I’ll grab a coffee after submitting an assignment, pop into the grocery store after a workout, or, my favorite of all, sit down with something sweet after tucking my son into bed.

More recently, I’ve started reaching for foods with less added sugar, like fruit, or even savory snacks like popcorn. That’s when I discovered a treat that was the best of both worlds—one that was dessert-like, but wasn't too sugary.

Enter: Clio Greek Yogurt Bars. I first stumbled upon them at Whole Foods and was intrigued enough to add one to my shopping basket. I ended up loving them so much that they’ve become a regular part of my little treat rotation, so I was thrilled to spot the boxes back at Costco for a limited time.

Why I Love Clio Greek Yogurt Minis

My introduction to Clio’s was in full-size form. They’re available individually, which is a great way to sample all four flavors (vanilla, strawberry, chocolate, and blueberry) and find your favorite. The chocolate-covered yogurt bars are rich enough that half will satisfy my sweet tooth, so I was excited to learn that Clio makes mini versions, too.

Greek yogurt dipped in chocolate may not sound all that indulgent at first, but the Clio bars are genuinely decadent. The self-proclaimed “cheesecake-like morsels” are tangy and creamy, with a dense texture that reminds me of New York-style cheesecake.

As a native New Yorker, this is my preferred style of cheesecake, which may be why I adore the Clio bars so much. The dark chocolate shell also has a hint of bitterness that makes them feel like a grown-up treat (although my five-year-old happily gobbles them up, too).

The mini bars are occasionally available at Costco, and I always grab a box when they’re in stock. Each one comes with 24 bars for $10.99, half in vanilla and the remaining half in strawberry. That's less than 46 cents a bar, which is way more affordable than you'll find it anywhere else. I usually pop a handful in the freezer, which turns them into the perfect frozen little treat.
