My New Favorite Store-Bought Coffee Will Have Me Skipping Drive-Thrus Forever

I'm stocking up before it's gone.

As much as I love my iced coffee from Dunkin’ or seasonal order from Starbucks, I love saving money on my morning coffee—and drinking it from the comfort of my home—even more. But, let’s be honest, sometimes the at-home coffee experience isn’t always as tasty as what comes from the drive-thru chains.

So, when I find a grocery store coffee product that lives up to its café counterpart, I’m instantly adding it to my weekly shopping list. And that’s exactly what happened with La Colombe’s latest limited-edition Draft Latte.

La Colombe’s café locations are known for serving lattes straight from the tap, which sometimes includes a special seasonal flavor, like gingerbread, hazelnut, or this month’s strawberry white chocolate mocha. In addition to the on-tap coffee at the cafés, La Colombe also sells its Draft Lattes in cans at the grocery store.

So, after the success of 2024’s Strawberry coffee at the café, La Colombe decided to bottle—or should I say can—a similar draft latte and bring it to shelves nationwide.

La Colombe Releases Draft Latte Strawberry Mocha

In January, La Colombe’s Draft Latte Strawberry Mocha hit major retailers—including Target, ShopRite, and Sprouts—in single-serve cans, as well as 12- and 24-packs available exclusively on the brand’s site.

The frothy canned cold brew is made with farm-fresh milk, real cocoa, and strawberry flavors for a subtly sweet, fruity mocha that mimics chocolate-covered strawberries. Each ready-to-drink can is made with 100 percent arabica, single-origin Colombian cold brew coffee, boasting 100 milligrams of caffeine and 50 percent less sugar than most flavored coffee beverages.

“Limited-edition flavors tend to be most popular in fall and winter where flavor profiles are more defined, yet this is not exactly the peak of cold coffee season," Chobani + La Colombe's Chief Innovation Officer Niel Sandfort said in a press release. "We're excited to lead the way in Spring seasonal flavors by bringing Strawberry Mocha, an innovative, first-of-its-kind flavor, to consumers who want to enjoy an indulgent treat with less sugar. It tastes like a ripe strawberry dipped in chocolate."

Not only was the seasonal flavor inspired by the fan-loved café Strawberry Mocha, but it also draws from the trendy chocolate-covered strawberry flavor we’ve seen at the drive-thru this year—most recently with Dutch Bros’ Chocolate Covered Strawberry Mocha.

Customers have already been skipping the drive-thru in favor of La Colombe’s Strawberry Mocha, which is only available for a limited time through April 15.

“I could drink this every day for the rest of my life. it tastes EXACTLY like a chocolate-covered strawberry. Please make this permanent,” one reviewer begged.

“It has a perfect balance of coffee, chocolate, and strawberry to taste. I wish this wasn't seasonal, I would have this all year round,” wrote another.

As someone who doesn't live near a Dutch Bros location to try the new chocolate-covered strawberry coffee, La Colombe’s Draft Latte is the perfect substitute. It’s not too sweet but still has noticeable notes of strawberry and chocolate flavors that make it incredibly delicious.

I’m on board with the reviewers—this irresistible flavor in its adorable pink can would be a hit in any season.
