The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced a recall of both seasoned and unseasoned breadcrumbs sold by La Fiesta Food Products, LLC, due to an undisclosed allergen. The La Fiesta brand Unseasoned Bread Crumbs (Pan Rayado) and Seasoned Bread Crumbs (Pan Rayado Sazonado) were recalled because they contain sesame, but it is not listed on the allergen warning. Additionally, the package doesn’t declare the allergen alert in Spanish.

How to Identify the Recalled Breadcrumbs

The recall impacts more than 26,000 packages of unseasoned breadcrumbs and more than 6,000 packages of seasoned breadcrumbs that were sold at retailers nationwide. The recalled Breadcrumbs (Pan Rayado) were sold in 8-ounce packages between April 10, 2024, and Jan. 22, 2025. The recalled Seasoned Breadcrumbs (Pan Rayado Sazonado) were sold in 8-ounce packages between Aug. 29, 2024, and Jan. 22, 2025.

To determine if you have the recalled products, look for the lot code and UPC listed on the front of the package.

  • The unseasoned breadcrumbs have the UPC 032327000886 and lot codes 26032, 26073, 26082, 26092, and 26094.

  • The seasoned breadcrumbs have the UPC 032327000887 and lot codes 26094 and 26123.

What to Do if You Purchased the Affected Products

The recall was announced after the products were found to contain sesame, one of the nine major food allergens the FDA requires to be disclosed on labels. However, the La Fiesta packaging doesn’t disclose the ingredient; therefore, the product can be dangerous or life-threatening to those with sesame allergies or sensitivities.

If you have a sesame allergy or sensitivity, you should not consume the breadcrumbs. Instead, throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.

If you do not have a sesame allergy or sensitivity, you do not have to dispose of the breadcrumbs. The recall was initiated for a mislabeling error and not because the breadcrumbs are unsafe to consume.

The FDA has not received any reports of illnesses or adverse effects caused by eating the recalled breadcrumbs. However, if you have health-related questions, you can contact your healthcare provider.

For questions regarding the recall, the company can be reached at 408-326-0487 or QualityAssurance@lffp.com.
