Five Pieces From the Roberto Cavalli Archive Go on Display at Selfridges

LONDON Roberto Cavalli is celebrating its past and present with a pop-up at Selfridges until Aug. 18.

Creative director Fausto Puglisi’s fall 2024 collection will be on display on the women’s floor with a selection of products including the Roar handbag in shades of white, black and green; spaghetti strap dresses; print jackets, and denim jeans.

The brand is also nodding to its founder, who died in April at the age of 83, with five denim jeans from the Cavalli archives locked in a delicate, glass case.

The archive pieces are all from the early 2000s collections, and include a pair of jeans from the spring 2001 collection featuring heat-adhesive sequin scales. Another pair from the spring 2000 collection is printed with a mini zebra design in gold glitter.

The archive items on display can be made to order, allowing customers to own a piece of the brand’s fun history.

Puglisi has been a busy man this summer. On top of designing his main collections, he’s also been making pieces for Taylor Swift’s “The Eras” tour.

“I’ve always created with passion for musicians, it’s connected to my DNA,” the Sicilian designer told WWD in an interview last month.

Referring to Swift, he said: “The queen deserves a collection. She’s a queen nowadays — look at the way she excites the people. I’ve always had this connection with artists. It started with Madonna and I admire them. They’re [Madonna and Swift] artists with a capital A.”
