Florida’s Next Michelin Guide Will Cover Fort Lauderdale and the Palm Beaches
The Michelin Guide is feeling extra sunshine-y today.
The company announced on Tuesday that its Florida guide will be expanding this year to encompass Greater Fort Lauderdale, the Palm Beaches, and St. Pete–Clearwater. Since launching in 2022, the Sunshine State edition has looked at restaurants in Greater Miami, Orlando, and Tampa, so this effectively doubles its scope.

The Florida Michelin Guide debuted just a few years ago, with a $150,000 investment from the state’s tourism board. (Visit Florida is still working with the guide to support marketing and promotional activities.) The guide’s inaugural list included just 15 starred establishments. Since then, it’s grown to 26 starred restaurants in the most recent edition, although that includes only one two-star restaurant and no three-star spots.
It’s possible, of course, that changes this year with the inclusion of three more Florida destinations. The Michelin Guide’s anonymous inspectors are already out in the field, scouting for restaurants in these areas as well as the ones they already covered. The 2025 ranking will be announced during a ceremony in Florida at a date to be announced. And beginning next year, inspectors will begin to cover the entire Sunshine State, resulting in selections statewide.
“The MICHELIN Guide’s expansion into three additional Florida destinations in 2025 and statewide in 2026 further cements the state as a premier culinary destination for both locals and visitors,” Dana Young, the president and CEO of Visit Florida, said in a statement. “Florida’s rich and diverse culinary scene has long been a cornerstone of the vacation experience, and we are thrilled that more talented chefs and exceptional restaurants across the state will now receive the recognition they deserve.”
After expanding to Florida, the Michelin Guide went on a bit of an expansion tear: The company debuted two other guides just two years, in Toronto and Vancouver, and two in 2023 as well, in Atlanta and Colorado. Last year, the brand grew even more, with first-time guides in Mexico, Texas, and Quebec. Now that it’s bulking up its efforts in Florida, you may find more Michelin-starred restaurants on the horizon there soon enough.
