Birthdays, weddings and bachelorette parties come and go, but good friendship gives a reason to celebrate any time, in any way.

Cheyenne Stone got the ultimate sweet surprise when she arrived at her friend's home for what she believed was a casual group dinner in May. Instead, the Chicago resident entered a spontaneous celebration in her own honor with several of her closest pals.

One of the party's attendees recorded the 30-year-old's emotional reaction when she learned why her friends organized the festivities.

"Because you deserve it!" someone explained from behind the camera in the footage of Stone, which she posted as a now-viral TikTok video with over 520,000 views on the app. In overlaying text, she wrote, "When your friends throw you a surprise party simply because they want to celebrate you."

Another out-of-frame friend in the video recapped some of Stone's recent achievements, reminding the surprised honoree, "You got a new apartment and you're crushing life, Chey!"

The video shows the elaborate dinner table set-up, which included decorative table settings and photos of Stone with her friend group of eight. Each member of the group handled different aspects of the event, from the food to wine and the location of the actual celebration. Stone tells PEOPLE that one of her best friends, Alex, was "the mastermind" behind the thoughtful show of appreciation since she often throws dinner parties for them all.

The hostess made a special Indian food dinner with Chicken Tikka Masala and homemade sourdough naan paired with rosé wine. Another friend, Hailey, made a cookie skillet for dessert. However it was the joint effort of all the women pulling together that made the evening so memorable for Stone.

"At first, I was like, 'I have no idea what's going on,' " the executive recruiter recalls. "But in the video, when you see me turn around and talk to them, they're all just standing there grinning ear to ear, and everyone's talking at once, and it was incredibly special."

The friends felt especially compelled to celebrate Stone as a way to return the favor. Recently, several members of the group have experienced some major life events, and Stone has stepped up to plan and party accordingly.

"Most of us turned 30 this year, and we're at that point celebrating a lot of weddings and bachelorette parties, things like that," she tells PEOPLE. "I am not at that point in my life yet, and so I have other milestones right now ... I'm moving from a studio to a one-bed apartment, I had some exciting things happen at work."

She continues, "It meant so, so much, because much of my time has gone to celebrating their milestones, which really is my favorite thing to do. It was really special to have it reciprocated."

In addition to the great company, Stone also appreciated her friends' creative decorations. Hailey was in charge of printing out pictures, so the group members sent over their favorite memories for her to print up and cut out. She even pulled throwback photos from Stone's previous milestone moments.

"Hailey stalked my Instagram, all the way back to high school. She had my bat mitzvah photo in there. I loved that. It was really, really funny," says Stone. "Everyone had one of the pictures of me on their plate before dinner."

The party-throwers also picked out vibrant accents to brighten up the dinner table, as Stone says she's known for her love of fun color.

"It did feel birthday party-esque. I think they were going for almost that bachelorette party feel, where you're posting pictures of people and things like that," she tells PEOPLE.

The attention to detail is especially significant considering how much Stone's friends are already juggling on a daily basis, as she's witnessed firsthand.

"We're in that time of life that's very like go, go, go. I was even more grateful for them doing this because I know they are all so incredibly busy with work and planning their weddings and their bachelorette parties," she notes. "For them to take time to do this, I really felt so incredibly loved."

In the comments on TikTok, several social media users complimented the group's thoughtful dedication and felt inspired to similarly celebrate their own friends, which Stone says was her intention in sharing the 25-second clip online.

"I would love for it to inspire myself and others to continue celebrating, especially the women in our lives, but really anyone who's reaching what they deem a milestone," she tells PEOPLE.

With the encouragement of such positive attention online, she also wants to instill the spontaneous celebration as a tradition within her group. "Everyone deserves it," says Stone.
