Gigi Hadid wore a $260 swimsuit as a top — and fans are obsessed: 'I'm so inspired'
According to Gigi Hadid, swimwear can be worn both on and off the beach.
On Sunday, the 27-year-old model attended a launch party for her recent swimwear collaboration with Frankies Bikinis in New York City. Hadid opted to wear one of her designs as a bodysuit, a blue and white toile print one piece swimsuit ($260 CAD/$185 USD), which she paired with low-rise cream trousers, a crop top collared shirt and layers of silver necklaces.
Fans were quick to weigh in on Hadid's look, praising the star for her "creative" and "atypical" use of her one-piece suit.
"She looks amazing! Proud moment wearing her line out," commented a fan on Instagram.
"Queeeeen," added another fan "Love this atypical use for a swimsuit! I'm so inspired!
"Omg she looks incredible! She never ceases to amaze with really unexpected yet creative looks. She rocks it!" wrote another.
"Wowza, your body looks toned, fit and fab in that look! Slay!" wrote another fan.
Hadid worked with Frankies Bikinis founder and creative director Francesca Aiello, to design the aptly titled collaboration, Gigi Hadid x Frankies Bikinis.
The project was a natural fit for Hadid and Aiello, who grew up together in Malibu, Calif. and have shared a "strong friendship" for years.
"Creating this collection was so special because there are so many details that we incorporated into each piece that are personal to both my friendship with Frank and my personal life," Hadid previously told Vogue. "We designed this collection with so much love, and I believe that really shines through in the details within the fabrics, prints and styles we chose to use."
The collection released its first round of pieces on May 11 online with a second drop set for release next week.
