This Grand $19.5 Million Villa in Barbados Is an Elegant Retreat in a Coveted Enclave
This Palladian-inspired villa in Barbados, listed for $19.5 million, is like having your own private Caribbean palace, with all of the fixings of a royal dwelling or a boutique resort.
Located within the exclusive Polo Ridge enclave in the island’s posh St. James parish, sometimes referred to as Barbados’s Platinum Coast, Westfield House was designed by renowned Bajan architect Larry Warren, who has designed multi-million-dollar residences for some of the world’s wealthiest individuals who own homes on the island. He is best known as the architect of the Sandy Lane Hotel, the island’s premier five-star resort, about a mile and a half to the north. The home is also in convenient proximity to Holetown, a chic hub with many bars, restaurants, shops, and supermarkets.

Westfield House sits on 2.8 lush acres behind wrought iron gates directly across from the Barbados Polo Club and the popular Holders House Farmers Market. Top-tier materials can be found inside and out, from the hand-carved coral stone used for the façade to the Italian marble flooring on the interior. Ideal for hosting large groups, it spans a whopping 18,000 square feet with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
Each room is bright and airy thanks to soaring ceilings and oversized arched windows that, due to the home’s elevated perch, showcase pretty views of the Caribbean Sea, while French doors open onto covered terraces that serve as breezy extensions of the indoor living spaces.
Across the main level are several sumptuous reception areas and dining spaces, as well as a kitchen with plenty of prep space and a games room with a bar. Guest bedrooms are en suite and located in separate wings of the home, apart from the communal living spaces. Most open to a private terrace or the swimming pool. The primary suite sprawls over the entire second level and connects to an incredible private terrace overlooking the pool and ocean beyond.
The home is situated in a U-shape around a curvaceous pool lined with Bisazza tile. There’s also an outdoor kitchen, a covered dining area, and a sheltered bar area for poolside cocktails. Finally, there’s a tennis court, a spa area, and tropical gardens that give way to meditative 180-degree views over the sea. Westfield House is listed with One Caribbean Estates.
