‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Fans Had a Strong Reaction to Seeing Justin Chambers in Ellen Pompeo's Instagram
Season 17 of Grey’s Anatomy may be over, but epic cast reunions are still happening off screen.
Ellen Pompeo, 51, who plays Dr. Meredith Grey, began her weekend dining with former Grey's costars Eric Dane and Justin Chambers. On her Instagram Stories, Ellen shared clips of the three friends enjoying each other’s company. In the first video, Justin pretended to be a waiter and asked Ellen and Eric what they wanted for dinner. In the second clip, Ellen panned across the table and showed Eric and Justin sitting down. She then captioned it: "It's a hard knock life."
As fans know, Eric portrayed Dr. Mark Sloan (a.k.a. "McSteamy") for six seasons on the medical drama. After making his departure at the beginning of season 9, the 48-year-old actor made a guest appearance in season 17. Meanwhile, Justin officially exited the longtime series just last year after portraying Dr. Alex Karev for 16 seasons.
Since then, fans haven’t seen Alex on the beloved drama. But after spotting Justin on Ellen’s Instagram over the weekend, many have taken to Twitter to call for Justin and his character, Alex, to return to Grey’s.
“Know what would be great in season 18 of Grey’s? IF JUSTIN CHAMBERS CAME BACK SUPPORTING THAT BLEACH BLONDE HAIR!!! We need Alex back, immediately. Please 😩,” one person wrote. “DUDE ELLEN WITH JUSTIN AND ERIC…. ALEX KAREV COME BACK S18 PLS,” another added. “Wait alex is coming back? 👀 i mean eric dane, ellen pompeo, and justin chambers are hanging out prob talking about what they should do in the next season of greys,” a different fan said.
Others were simply happy to see the three Grey’s stars reunited. “OMGGG ELLEN ERIC AND JUSTIN 😭😍 IS THIS HEAVEN?!” a follower commented. "Thank you @EllenPompeo for the IG story. I can’t stop thinking about blonde Justin Chambers tbh! So happy to see his face and know he’s (presumably) okay. Selfishly wish he was ready to revive Karev," another said.
Whether or not Justin has plans to make a surprise appearance next season, Grey’s fans have made it quite clear that they'll welcome him back with open arms.
