While she may have started out on the big screen in films like “Shakespeare in Love,” Gwyneth Paltrow is no longer just acting these days. The 47-year-old star has managed to transform the lifestyle and beauty landscape with her website Goop, which has now branched out into her own line of skincare, supplements and even fashion.
Always one to stand behind her brand, Paltrow has shared that the secret to her flawless complexion is due to her love of all things exfoliating, and some help from one Goop product in particular: the GOOPGLOW Microderm Instant Glow Exfoliator.
Inspired by the effects of cosmetic microdermabrasion treatments, this powerful facial scrub combines both chemical and physical exfoliating ingredients. Containing a blend of four glow-inducing micro exfoliating minerals (quartz, garnet, alumina, and silica) plus glycolic acid, this scrub helps sweep away dry, dead skin cells and refine the appearance of pores.
Despite only being available at Sephora Canada since late February, it’s already racked up 7,500 “loves” from reviewers on the site. With a 4.7 star rating and 95 per cent of reviewers stating that they would recommend this product, it’s safe to say that Gwyneth isn’t the only fan of this scrub.
“While this cost a little more than I usually spend on skincare, I will continue to buy it. The ingredients are great and I have seen a huge difference in my skin. My pores are noticeably smaller and my skin is softer,” reads one review.
“I was hesitant to buy it at first due to the price, but once Sephora began selling Goop products, I took the plunge. Over the past few weeks I’ve been using it, it hasn’t irritated my skin at all, and my complexion has definitely improved,” reads another.
Although it has received rave reviews, many shoppers have been put off by the $175 price tag for the full-size product, as well as the $58 mini version.
“I still can’t believe how expensive this is, but wow does it work!” shared one reviewer. “After use, my skin feels baby soft and looks noticeably brighter! I’ll continue to purchase this, but I’m definitely looking for a dupe to replace it.”
