Hailey Bieber Wore the Biggest Trend of the Year With an Accessory Borrowed From Justin Bieber

Hailey Bieber looked like Big Bird during Paris Fashion Week a couple days ago — and that is actually a compliment. She wore head-to-toe yellow, including a fuzzy yellow bucket hat, and the internet has been obsessed ever since. It looks like the type of outfit you'd expect to see at an awards show in the '90s, but it actually features two of the biggest trends of the year, including one we already know her husband Justin Bieber is a huge fan of.

The obvious 2021 trend is the color, which Pantone named one of its big colors of the year. When coupled with its other color of the year, gray, it reminds us of all the places we couldn't go this year: Soul Cycle, Dry Bar, the list of yellow and gray establishments goes on and on. But yellow is also a literal ray of sunshine that (hopefully) represents light at the end of the pandemic tunnel. It's the literal color of happiness, and Bieber wore it so well, we wouldn't be surprised if every brand started to make its own iteration of her yellow leather blazer and suit pants. It'll make the perfect going-out look post-Covid.

Stand Studio, an up-and-coming brand that makes fuzzy outerwear that's popular with the Instagram set, is behind Bieber's entire look, but it appears to be sold-out everywhere. Thankfully, finding yellow blazers and pants isn't that hard, but the star of the outfit is undoubtedly the fuzzy bucket hat, which looks like something straight out of Justin's wardrobe. Fuzzy hats may not have as much symbolism to look into as the color yellow, but they are available on Amazon for under $15.

Fuzzy hats are also popular among Gen Z, mostly because they were a key component of so many iconic '90s and early 2000s fits. Basically, prepare to see them everywhere. They're easy statement pieces that don't cost nearly as much as any other "It" item out there right now (aside from statement face masks) and also fit perfectly into the theme of the last year or so: comfort. Of course they'll look great with those Ugg boots you just bought, too.

Gigi Hadid has been advocating for an entirely different head piece, the XXXL beanie, and Katie Holmes has been tirelessly working to bring back the newsboy cap. And while both of them feel very vintage too, neither of them have set the internet on fire quite as much as Bieber's fuzzy bucket hat. Maybe it's because Justin has set the groundwork for the trend years prior. Whatever it is, we're sold, and buying more than a couple while manifesting a world where we can finally travel to Paris and wear it.
