Heads up: The side part is the night out hair trend to know
2025 hair trend alert! As we step (read: crawl) into January, the Golden Globes inaugurate awards season, once again setting the tone for the year's beauty trends. The standout forecast? The return of the side part as per your favourite celeb, natch.
Last night at the coveted GG award ceremony, everyone from Alexandra Daddario to Anya Taylor-Joy, Zendaya, Eiza González and Selena Gomez, stepped out wearing their hair styled in a side parting, aka the go-to millennial look. I mean, the only person not sporting the hair trend was Emma Stone – and that's because she cut all of her locks off for a super short pixie crop! Ya know what, fair enough...
Alexandra wore her locks in a polished bun, fashioned similarly to Anya's 'do, while Eiza opted for long cascading curls and Zendaya rocked a bouffant bob; the girlies gave us varying interpretations of the side part trend.
My personal fave, however, was Sel's side parted bob. It's sleek, chic and very Old Hollywood. *Chef's kiss*
Now, I know what you're thinking: 'What makes this a night-out hairstyle?' Well, it's considered chic because it flatters almost every single face shape, subtly highlighting angular features and drawing attention to other diagonal lines such as the contour of the cheekbone and jawline. Think: dramatiqué, levelled-up hair.
So, with that in mind, we would dub this the perfect Friday night 'do for roaming all of London's most swanky bars. After all, if it's good enough for the Golden Globes red carpet...
