Here's How You Can Legally Show Your Support for Hillary Clinton at the Polls

Wearing campaign merch to vote is a no but OPI's Madam President nail polish is the perfect way to say #ImWithHer.

There's an entire world of etiquette that applies just to the polls. Some depend on the state you live in, which can determine whether or not it's legal to take voting selfies or bring your phone—or any electronic device—into the polls at all. Most states, however (with the exception of Maryland), have a law that prohibits voters from showing up at the polls in merchandise that features the names or faces of the candidate they're supporting.

Because of this, many women supporting Hillary Clinton have elected to wear white when they cast their ballot, in a nod to the suffragists who made the color their own as they fought for women's right to vote in the early 1900s. Now, there's another way to show the world that you're with Her—and make sure your manicure is on point.

It's OPI's deep red shade called "Madam President", and it's the perfect way to endorse Clinton at the polls without breaking any laws. The polish was actually released earlier this year in the nail company's Washington DC-themed collection, as Harper's Bazaar points out, but it's taken on new meaning as early voters have posted about hitting the polls.

"Commodified my dissent and bought 'Madam President' nail polish," writes one Twitter user. "I don't care I need some joy in this campaign, however shallow. #ImWithHer."

"Our Washington D.C collection is about empowering women, whether Democrat or Republican," reps for OPI told Glamour. "OPI encourages equal opportunities for all genders and ethnicities. In 2016, the highest office in the land is no longer beyond anyone’s reach."

The shade is still available to buy in stores and online; but if comes down to trying to squeeze in a manicure or take the time to exercise your right to vote, get thyself to the polls and make your voice count.
