Hilaria Baldwin is opening up in her new podcast.

On Tuesday, the 38-year-old took to Instagram to promote the first episode of Witches Anonymous, which she co-hosts with Michelle Campbell Mason.

"We’re going to be really open about our own experiences, I’m going to talk about stuff I’ve never talked about before because you’re not supposed to," Baldwin said when introducing the podcast.

In the pilot, the duo opened up about the origins of their friendship, the effect that social media has on young girls, and why some women are quick to judge others.

While the episode delved into topics such as mental health and motherhood, the co-hosts centred on the idea of competition and judgement, and how women can overcome comparing themselves to others.

Baldwin explained that competition among women starts on the playground, referencing a recent experience of her eldest daughter, Carmen, 9.

"She's seeing girls left out on the playground, girls that no one wants to play with for whatever reason, girls getting picked before other girls, and I'm wondering how I can guide her?...As parents we should tell our kids to use their voice, to share how they feel, and guiding our daughters into this is extremely important so they support each other," she said.

"Now we're zooming in on people's bodies and it influences us to think how we should look or be, and it creates this constant cycle of competition."Michelle Campbell Mason

Baldwin then posed the question, "why do we compete with other women so much?" In response, Mason credited the online world.

"Now we're zooming in on people's bodies and it influences us to think how we should look or be, and it creates this constant cycle of competition," she said.

"We've been trained to think a certain way and we've been trained to compete with each other. And to get over that we have to be honest with ourselves about why we say or think these things," Baldwin added. "We have to use the online community for feelings of support rather than for being mean."

Baldwin has had her fair share of online hate over the years, and recalled a few experiences that "took a toll" on her mental health.

"Chrissy Teigen and I once wore the same dress, and were put side by side online and people voted for who looked better," she said. "...When I was pregnant I would be compared to other pregnant celebrities," which was "really hard" for Baldwin while she was struggling with her body image.

"Comparison is the thief of joy," Mason quipped in response.

Mason further explained that everyone is entitled to their personal lives, and we have "no right" to speculate or judge how other people live.

Baldwin shared that before she met her husband, Alec, who have a 26-year age gap, she used to judge "women and men that had big age differences."

"I would [think], OK, this older man wants some young bimbo with no opinions whatsoever. And that young woman is obviously a gold digger," she revealed. "Now that I’m in that relationship people will say those things about me regularly. Why was this trained into my head and why was I so judgemental? ...Their love may be different from what you thoughts yours would be, but it doesn't make it not valid."

During her relationship with Alec, Baldwin "had the privilege" of meeting incredible women including Hilary Clinton, Jane Fonda and Oprah, who have helped her see the power of female empowerment and rising up.

Mason agreed, adding that from Oprah, she's "learned that we can control our actions," and that's what helps us be better friends or people.

"You can always learn something from everyone. I try to remember this even when I'm around certain people I don't want to be...but if you let go of judgement, you will realize that you'll learn something from these people," she concluded.
