How to wear cream make up in spring

Spring is the season where lighter makeup takes over. But that doesn’t mean you should be packing away your cream-based winter make up! Using cream products may sound thick and heavy but the when done right, the results can look light, dewy and natural.

With such variety available today from cream eyeshadows to bronzers and blushes, you can essentially create an entire makeup look with just cream products. Here are three must-haves to create that fresh spring glow.

Cream Blushes

These creamy pots are perfect for a light kiss of colour on your cheeks and are super blendable giving you some natural-looking radiance. If you’re applying it with a brush, stipple it onto the apples of your cheeks and blend it out with your fingers or a beauty blender.

For an affordable cream blush that matches the quality of some higher end brands, try H&M beauty’s cream blush.

Cream Bronzers

Cream bronzers are an easy way to add definition to a face as they blend easily without leaving any harsh lines. For sharper cheekbones, pick a shade no more than a couple of shades darker than your skin tone and apply it under your cheekbones blending upwards and outwards to your ears. Also blend it along your jawline and hairline for added definition. Some of my favourite cream bronzers include Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel and the Clinique Chubby Stick Sculpting Contour.

Cream Eyeshadows

Cream shadows tick all the boxes - they’re highly pigmented, glides on easily, doesn’t flake or crease and are easy to blend. Thankfully when it comes to cream eyeshadows, you don’t have to spend a lot of money in order to get a good quality product. The next time you’re at your local drugstore, try Kiko’s Cosmetics Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadows or Maybelline’s Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayons.

And there you have it! Add a good light foundation or a BB cream and a hydrating lipstick and you’ve got the perfect spring makeup look! If you have oily skin, set your face with powder first but if you’re dry you can skip this step and just let the cream products shine!
