Ivanka Trump Wore $740 Mismatched Statement Earrings to a Gala in Germany
While Ivanka Trump has been the recipient of hisses during her Germany trip — her first official overseas trip as an adviser to the president — it certainly isn’t in response to her wardrobe choices. On Wednesday night, the first daughter served up a sartorial win in a cream dress and statement earrings to a gala during the W20 Summit. The earrings were mismatched, which is an interesting and very fashion-forward choice for the first daughter during a formal event.
Like every decision Trump makes, this was well thought out. She wasn’t rushing out of the hotel only to grab two different earrings. They accessories are designed by Marni, and are sold as a set for $740. The emerald glass stone and rhinestone earrings feature bold geometric and floral-inspired constructions. One seems to be the petals, while the other could be the stem. They are huge and hard to miss, especially when set against a white dress, like the mother-of-three opted to do.
Her white knee-length A-line frock hugged her body in a tasteful way. It had long sleeves and was very simple, which was the right move with those statement-making earrings.
Clearly, she chose wisely with cream, as German Chancellor Angela Merkel was wearing the same exact color. Merkel’s blazer perfectly matched Ivanka’s dress. The duo sat next to each other and posed for photos twinning, whether Merkel liked it or not. Merkel wore her own statement jewelry, in the form of a chunky amber beaded necklace.
