Reality star Jamie Otis is letting her fans know that she and her family "made it through" Hurricane Ian.

The 35-year-old "Married At First Sight" star shared a video on Instagram of herself, her husband, Doug Hehner, and their two children, Henley, 5, and Hendrix, 2, cleaning up their yard after Hurricane Ian ripped through their Florida neighbourhood.

"Cleaning up the aftermath of Hurricane Ian," she penned in on-screen text, followed by: "Feeling thankful we made it out safely. We're praying for everyone who is affected by this storm."

She paired the candid video with a caption detailing the experience.

"We made it through Hurricane Ian with minimal damage," she went on, adding how refreshing it was to see her neighbours, "who we barely know," working together to help "each other get through this devastation."

"Our power has been out since yesterday so we're trying to keep our food cold," the former reality TV star wrote. "Then this afternoon while Rexy [Hendrix] was napping I was cleaning out the front of the yard (all the fallen tree branches, etc)."

Otis explained that all of the nearby gas stations were sold out of gas, making it only a matter of time before they'd be unable to power their generator. But they're hopeful that their electricity is restored before that happens.

"I haven't been part of such a loving, helpful community of people since my trailer park days and I'm truly in awe," she continued. "Generosity is contagious! It made me want to do more to help others so I just went right over to my neighbours and picked up all the branches off their front lawn."

She concluded by sharing her gratitude for the "minimal damage and no flooding."

"For everyone else who has been slammed by Ian — or who is currently in the path of this monster of a Hurricane now—we are praying for you and thinking of you. If there's anything I can do to help you, please let me know!" Otis added. "I will do as much as I can! Us neighbours have to stick by each other's side, especially during times like these."

Last week, Otis shared another candid Instagram Reel, showing love for her family on her and Hehner's 8.5-year anniversary.

"When my husband and I were on 'Married At First Sight' 8.5 years ago, I didn't think it'd work," she confessed. "But not my hubby. He said he always knew we'd make a beautiful family."

Otis then shared a photo of their children before revealing that she and Hehner are "trying to conceive our next baby now."

She explained that before saying "I do," she was scared of being vulnerable.

"I was absolutely terrified saying 'I do' to you. I so desperately wanted true love and a family but I had no idea how to get there," Otis shared. "I was so scared if I opened up I'd just get my heart broken."

She went on to thank Hehner for being "patient" with her through her insecurities and accepting the "baggage" she brought into their marriage.

"Happy 8.5-year anniversary. We didn't meet in the most traditional way, but we have our own little love story and it is my favourite," the mom-of-two concluded. "I love our little family and I cannot wait to give you another little Hehner baby to climb in our bed and keep us up all night long!"
