January's Full Moon Will Have Everyone in Their Feelings — But These 4 Zodiac Signs Will Be an Emotional Wreck

January's full moon may have you howling!

Nicknamed the Wolf Moon, this month's lunation will reach peak fullness at 2:27 p.m. PT on Jan. 13, marking the first full moon of 2025 and rising two weeks before it enters its new phase.

While this astronomical event is sure to dazzle the night sky with its radiant glow, it also boasts extra astrological significance as it rises in Cancer (24 degrees) this year. While all lunar phases electrify the cosmos, the effects of full moons in particular are extra strong.

"These periods tend to represent turning points, culminations, endings or awakenings," celebrity astrologer Kyle Thomas tells PEOPLE exclusively of the days leading up to and following a full moon's peak. Emotions can run high during those times.

Cancer, the fourth zodiac sign on the wheel, aligns with domesticity, emotional security, ancestors and families. According to Thomas, the energy of this Water sign "will energize our lives" and "allow us to reflect on the past and better understand our foundations so we can build toward our goals."

"Our emotional centers and intuition will also be stimulated by this lunation, so pay attention to what your heart and spirit are telling you," he adds. "Without stability beneath our feet, we cannot reach the stars!"

Thomas says "various astrological aspects" will impact this lunation, like the moon being sextile Uranus which is likely to bring "stimulating personal encounters and exciting events" to our lives. "You'll feel more open to change, an excellent time to try something new."

The full moon will also be conjunct with Mars, which Thomas says will bring us "courage, enthusiasm and initiative to chase our desires." He adds, "We can experience more charisma and sex appeal, but must be aware that our emotions could make us impulsive or intense."

Furthermore, this lunation will be trine Neptune, which Thomas says could put us in a "sensitive, romantic and imaginative mood." The full moon will also be opposite Pluto, which he says could be intense while trine Saturn will "aid us in stability if we breathe through it instead."

Aries (March 20-April 19)

Home is where the heart is, Aries. "An emotional shift around a domestic affair could be at hand for you," predicts Thomas.

"Some may receive sudden news that causes a pivot in the way you’ve been handling a family, home or real estate matter. You may be required to step in to aid a parent or one of your kindred, but the situation may end up being quite frustrating and you must power through it," he says.

If you have the sudden urge to relocate or redecorate your space, Thomas puts forth happy news! "You may suddenly be able to transform the sense of joy you experience in your living space," he says.

Taurus (April 19-May 20)

If you've been working on a project, Taurus, expect to reach a big turning point. Thomas predicts you may turn your focus on "a writing, speaking, advertising or social media initiative."

As you attempt to nail all the pieces down, he says you "could make a lot of progress" while doing so — however, he says "you may be quite emotional about how it’s all coming together" at the same time.

Elsewhere in his prediction, Thomas says an important contract could "pop up near this time" and "you may feel a bit forced to sign it." He advises a "delay" if you can, despite it seeming like it's "thrust upon you."

Gemini (May 20-June 20)

Seeing green, Gemini? "A big financial matter is arriving for you to handle," predicts Thomas, who notes that "it may feel like a bigger expense than you’d prefer to handle."

January's full moon may also have you "realizing that you need to make some serious adjustments" to your budget and finances. "This lunation could also bring news of a new job, raise or lucrative client, too, so be on the hunt," he puts forth.

Cancer (June 20-July 22)

Expect change, Cancer. "A major turning point arrives for you now," predicts Thomas.

"This particular lunation could bring up some power struggles and intense revelations between you and a partner," he says. "You are clearly asserting your authority and power at this time and may see the culmination or a turning point around a heartfelt project or dream."

Thomas adds, "If you need aid at this time, think outside of the box and reach out to others who may be able to step in and provide what you need."

Leo (July 22-Aug. 22)

It's time to rest and recharge, Leo. January's full moon will have you feeling "quite anxious and cause you to dig deep to decide what you need to release in order to be a happier and brighter version of yourself," predicts Thomas.

"Your dreams could be especially intense and a secret may now emerge that you or another desperately tried to keep hidden," he puts forth. "This may cause emotions to be stirred and past situations to be addressed once again."

Thomas suggests, "The best way to handle this energy is to chill out, clear your plans and focus on a mini staycation."

Virgo (Aug. 22-Sept. 22)

Celebrate the new year, Virgo! "Festive events and plans could fill your social calendar near this time," predicts Thomas.

While there's a lot to enjoy around this lunation, he says to expect some "push-pull energy" between you and a friend (or someone you're dating). This energy may also "manifest" around children, he adds.

To best avoid the drama, Thomas says to "breathe through it." He adds, "Remind everyone that it’s better to bring love into the world and not hate."

Libra (Sept. 22-Oct. 22)

Get ready to deal with personal and professional matters, Libra. "Prepare to deal with some tension around home and family situations too as you reach for new professional heights," Thomas puts forth.

"A big shift around your career may arise," he adds. "A promotion, new job or recognition could pop up now dependent on how hard you’ve been working in recent months." If vibes seem off with an authority figure, he advises you to "explain your side of the story."

Scorpio (Oct. 22-Nov. 21)

Fly high, Scorpio! "Prepare to soar to new heights," says Thomas.

While this is an exciting period, he predicts you might also feel "tension" that is "limiting the plans for success or travel" that you had in mind. "Significant legal or contractual situations could appear, too, especially in regards to media, academic or international business," he adds.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22–Dec. 21)

Intimacy will be top of mind near this full moon, Sagittarius. On the one hand, Thomas says you could feel "close" with your partner.

On the other, however, this lunation's energy may have you going the opposite. If there’s distance or a disconnect, he says "you could rehash the details or even decide it’s time to file for divorce and pursue a settlement."

Elsewhere in Thomas' prediction, he says your focus may be on "a big money matter" instead.

Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)

Take a good look at your partnerships, Capricorn. Thomas says to ask yourself, "Are you on the same page with one another or just growing apart?"

Emotions may feel "especially intense" around January's full moon, as he calls this period a "make-or-break time" for your relationships. Perhaps you could have a "transformative revelation" to grow closer, like moving in together or getting married.

On the other hand, if there's friction between you and your significant other, Thomas predicts a "dramatic episode" could occur, one that might "send you apart like leaves cast into the wind," he says.

Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)

Get ready to get down to business, Aquarius! "You could be quite busy putting the finishing touches on an employment or work-related project near this time," says Thomas.

If you're searching for a new job or looking to take on more responsibility in your current role, he says this lunation may give you the opportunities. You may also find yourself "reassessing" your work-life balance — or rather, analyzing your health and fitness plans.

Lastly, Thomas says your pet may experience a "rough time" near this full moon. "Some Aquarians may decide to adopt near this time, too," he adds.

Pisces (Feb. 18-March 20)

Love is in the air, Pisces! "Let loose and have a bit of fun," says Thomas.

At the same time, however, he warns that this lunation could "create some power struggles" or "tension" between you and your romantic partner (or even a friend, too). "Your acquaintance may not be seeing eye-to-eye with you on your relationship or have ulterior motives of their own," he says.

On the bright side, if you have an open heart, Thomas says you could "push past the drama" and rather "focus on your true desires" instead. If you're single, he predicts you may find someone new "through your network" at this time.
