Jenna Ortega's mosaic dress is made of shards of glass that poke her butt
Jenna Ortega stepped out for an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert wearing a strapless red Oscar de la Renta mosaic dress made entirely from shards of glass. Each individual piece of glass was attached to transparent fabric in a mosaic effect, making the gown a subtle naked dress, thanks to the borders between each of the glass pieces that offered a flash of Jenna's skin underneath.
A 3D glass rose was fastened to the neckline with two further corsages adorning the right hip. The mid-length design was finished with a raw hem and is truly a piece of wearable art.
Christian Louboutin burgundy satin peep-toe heels on vertiginous stiletto heels completed the look. Jenna accessorised with a simple silver chain necklace with a red-coloured stone pendant by ITA jewellery. Apparently the dress was inspired by stained glass windows and was kinda painful to wear.
“It's made of glass, and I’m not going to lie, sometimes there’s like pieces of it that are poking my ass,” the actress told Stephen Colbert. “Every time I sit. I feel uncomfortable and extremely comfortable at the same time.”
If the dress looks familiar, that's because Demi Moore wore a very similar version, also by Oscar de la Renta, to the LA premiere of The Substance back in September.
Featuring the same mosaic effect with the glass pieces arranged to create rose motifs, Demi's gown differed in silhouette with a plunging sweetheart neckline and full length with an A-line skirt. The Golden Globe winner's dress was also notably not a naked dress, as the glass pieces had been attached to black fabric.
Our jaws are on the floor at both of these stunning dresses!
