If there’s one thing the internet loves, it’s a nautical-themed fashion trend. While the “coastal grandmother” looks of years past were centered around a sun-soaked, beachy way of life, the “fisherman aesthetic," the latest maritime movement, is much cozier—think cable-knit sweaters, Fair Isle knits, and anything with stripes.

While TikTok was the one to clue me in to this trending style, Pinterest also predicted that this aesthetic will be big in 2025. I’ve long been a fan of cable-knit sweaters, so I was obviously thrilled to see that they're now considered “in.” Twin with Garner in this roomy beige option, which is truly a quintessential version of the style. If you’re after something more fitted, snag this navy pick that a shopper said is “equal [in quality] to other sweaters [they] have that cost three times what this sweater cost.” And, although navy and white indisputably give the fisherman vibes we’re after, I’m also eyeing this army green jumper, which is perfectly oversized without looking frumpy.
