As a Los Angeles resident, Jennifer Love Hewitt is working to help her community rebuild amid the devastating wildfires.

The ongoing Pacific Palisades and Eaton fires began on January 7, and have since burned over 40,000 acres of land (per data from Cal Fire), caused over 30,000 people to evacuate and destroyed over 15,000 structures across the Los Angeles area (per Forbes). It's been a time of tragedy — but amid catastrophe, there is also hope. Many organizations are sharing ways for people to donate and help those affected by the fires to back on their feet.

The 9-1-1 actress and mom of three is contributing in her own way, helping to raise money for Baby2Baby to aid children affected by the fires. Jennifer was a guest on the I've Never Said This Before With Tommy DiDario podcast on January 21, for the episode titled "Inside the LA Fires and How to Help." She opened up to host Tommy DiDario about her personal experience and what she's doing to help, noting the shared sense of healing among people from all walks of life.

"There is a beautiful spirit amongst all the rubble right now that is very moving," she said, sounding choked up in an emotional clip shared on Instagram. "It's hard for me to talk about because it's just very moving. I have hugged more strangers (that have hugged me) in the last four days...and it's everything. It just means so much. I hope that people know that there's a really beautiful part of what's happening here, that maybe they don't get the chance to tell in quick clips on the news, that is really inspiring. And I hope we'll carry past all of this at some point."

As for how Jennifer is lending a helping hand in Los Angeles, she is using her platform in a unique way.

She partnered with the loungewear company BFFS and Babes to create a special "Love Angeles"collaboration. The collection includes two different sweatshirts, a trucker hat and keychain emblazoned with "Love Angeles" in a blue heart. 100% of the profits are donated to the organization Baby2Baby to support children and families affected by the Los Angeles fires. What's more, they've already reached $44,000 of the $100,ooo goal.

"When I'm hurting, I try to figure out how to turn that into something active, because it just doesn't serve us to sit in all of that heaviness," she explained about the initiative when appearing with Tommy on the Elvis Duran and the Morning Show on January 15. "[This is] a city of people who are really supporting each other."

Tommy added: "Everyone has a different experience, so sensitivity is crucial right now. No matter what walk of life you come from or who you are, loss is loss. I'm so proud of Jennifer and want to do all I can to help her get the word out about Love Angeles."
