When you are the First Lady of the United States, every outfit is subject to scrutiny. And, these pressures only mount when you have an audience with the Queen of the United Kingdom. Luckily, Dr. Jill Biden knew just what to wear for the occasion, as she had tea with Queen Elizabeth today.

During President Biden and the First Lady's first presidential trip abroad, the President is attending the G7 summit in Cornwall, southwest England, as well as engaging in talks with the European Union in Brussels, and having a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In the midst of this packed schedule, the couple headed to Windsor Castle, where they had tea with Queen Elizabeth. Though the pair has met other royals before as Vice President and Second Lady, the President and First Lady met the Queen for the first time on Friday. The group was introduced at a drinks reception for the Queen and the G7 leaders at The Eden Project. Dr. Biden chose a Gabriela Hearst Karban trench coat for the occasion.

Dr. Biden got to spend more time with the Queen today at Windsor Castle. For her second meeting with the monarch, the First Lady wore a powder blue dress and matching jacket, paired with nude Valentino heels.

Yesterday, the First Lady lead some royal-adjacent activities, meeting with members of Bude Surf Veterans—a program partially funded by the Invictus Games Foundation, a wounded warrior initiative founded by Prince Harry. The program uses surfing to assist British military veterans with physical or mental health injuries. Though the Duke of Sussex is in California and will not see Dr. Biden on this trip, he and the First Lady have become friends over the years.

According to CNN, Dr. Biden met Prince Harry in 2012, while she was Second Lady, during an event for wounded warriors at the British Ambassador's residence in Washington. The pair stayed in touch, with Biden attending multiple Invictus Games events. In 2016, then-Vice President Joe Biden joked about being jealous of his wife's friendship with the Prince, saying to the press, "Jill went to London for the last Games. She spent too much damn time with Prince Harry!"
