Joanna Gaines is sharing a relatable holiday season snafu — and her creative solution!

On Sunday, Dec, 15, the Magnolia co-founder, 46, revealed on Instagram that she woke up with "every intention" of "baking and making all of the Christmas candy that I always love to do every year," but had a sudden change of heart.

"I woke up and was like, 'You know what? I'm just not feeling it.' But I also have some friends coming over tonight and had to hide everything," Gaines told her Instagram followers in a selfie video from her Texas kitchen.

She then reveals her "trick" for a quick cleanup.

"So earlier, there was ingredients on that, ingredients on that, ingredients on the floor," she said while pointing at various areas around her kitchen, before turning her camera to her dishwasher.

Upon opening up the appliance, Gaines revealed that she filled it with several containers of peanut butter, peanuts, crackers, marshmallows and other goodies.

"But now, thanks to modern technology... dual-purpose dishwasher," she joked, before then turning her camera to her "utensil drawer" — which she filled with walnuts and pecans — as well as the space under her sink.

"Thank goodness for extra storage under the sink," she joked, as her camera panned over almond bark, rice cereal, and other goodies that "no one will ever know" about.

In the caption, Gaines joked that she was offering her followers "some tips and tricks if you are hosting this holiday season... 🤫🫢🤗." And they, too, seemed to appreciate the inventive hiding places for unused ingredients.

"I am a master stasher… so glad to know I’m not alone, lol," wrote one commenter.

"There’s always an incredible reminder of why I adore you beyond just your impeccable taste," another comment read.

While Gaines's home will soon be filled with sweet treats, she opened up to PEOPLE last month about some other special treasures that wound up in her possession thanks to one of her kids.

Speaking about her recent partnership with online education platform MasterClass, Gaines shared why her and husband Chip Gaines' son Crew, 6, gives her daily gifts.

"Every day Crew brings me something he discovered outside, and at this point, he knows I’m going to put it on display somewhere around the house," she said. "So I have his collections everywhere — a lot of acorns and shells and flowers we’ve picked together."

She added, "I also have my own collection of miniature brass sit-abouts that I keep in the living room."

Crew's latest outdoor present, Gaines revealed on Instagram earlier in November, included a handwritten note beside a small flower bouquet. "Just because I love you mom, love Crew," read the heartwarming note.

Joanna and Chip also share four older kids: Drake, 19, Ella, 18, Duke, 16, and Emmie, 14.
