John Cena Told Us What His 'Perfect Last Meal' Would Be & It's So Heartwarming
Earlier this month, John Cena announced an official partnership with McDonald's in what we can only describe as the most on brand PR move to date. Y'all remember the way this man waxed poetic about the burger joint on Kai Cenat's livestream, right? RIGHT.
The way the WWE wrestler-turned-movie star has continued to cement himself as a Mickey D's super fan—he went as far to call the chain an "incredible tool" in his rigorous diet and exercise regimen—it begged the question: would his go-to order (six-piece Chicken McNuggets, Double Cheeseburger, McChicken and Small Fries) be his last meal?
In between chatting about his fond childhood memories at McDonald's and his go-to breakfast order (Egg McMuffin and hash browns), Cena revealed that his perfect last meal is a lot less about what he's eating, but rather, who he's eating with.
"Gosh, last meal. Eventually, I guess we'll all have to choose that," he tells Delish. "Mine would be dinner with my wife. I don't care where it is. I would love that as my last meal. I think that would be very special." Yep, cue the awwws.
That's not the only detail Cena revealed about his relationship to Shay Shariatzadeh, which he has historically remained rather tight-lipped on. He also shared their go-to cocktail/travel tradition.
"The wife and I love to test out each place’s espresso martini offering, because the espresso martini is a fan-favorite drink now [and] every place makes them," he says. "So in our travels, we like to try at least one espresso martini and then continue to either a cocktail or a non-alcoholic night. Or we lean into wine or cocktails. But as a pair, we like the espresso martini."
McDonald's announced their official partnership with Cena on January 7 while officially rolling out its new McValue menu, which includes the $5 Meal Deal, in-app exclusive offers, the new Buy One, Add One for $1 offer, and more exciting updates.
Take a cue from Cena himself and order up some McNuggets, a double cheeseburger, McChicken, and small fries—and then wash it all down with an espresso martini.
