'It just wasn't pretty': Carrie Underwood shares new details about her face after accident
Carrie Underwood is getting candid about the fall that resulted in her having wrist surgery and 40-50 stitches to her face. On Thursday, in her first TV interview since the fall, the singer told Today Show host Hoda Kotb that she “just fell.”
“Plain and simple, it was just kind of a freak accident. I just fell. I just tripped taking my dogs out to do their business. It could happen to anybody,” she told Kotb, adding: “I say if I would have fallen anywhere else, it wouldn’t have been a problem. There was one little step that I went to catch myself on and I missed.”
Underwood fell outside her Nashville home in November and warned fans that she’s ”not quite looking the same.”
But fans were confused, as there were no noticeable differences to her face post-surgery. In Thursday’s interview, Kotb told Underwood she looks ”the same.”
Some fans seem annoyed with the attention this is getting.

There was an amazing opportunity missed by Carrie to address the whole body shaming situation. Her 6 month pity party was pathetic! She needs to spend some time at any burn center and the TODAY show needs to quit elevating these celebrities that are so painfully selfish. WOW!

Either way, Underwood still looks gorgeous.
