Kaia Gerber nails off-duty model style in a crop tank top and low-rise joggers
When your full-time job is travelling around the world posing for brands like Valentino and Celine *and* your mum is one of the world's most famous supermodels of all time (we're looking at you Cindy Crawford), it's pretty much a fact of life you'll look good in almost any outfit. But when Kaia Gerber was photographed out in New York City yesterday [Thursday 18 July] wearing a causal ensemble comprising of a cropped blank tank top and low-rise grey joggers – AKA the unofficial off-duty uniform of models everywhere – we did have to double take.
I wear pretty much this exact 'fit every Sunday and yet, never look as chic as Kaia does. Admittedly, I never so much as run a brush through my hair on such days, instead shoving it up into a messy top knot bun on my head. Kaia's dark hair on the other hand was styled to perfection, worn down in loose waves and so shiny it threatened to blind passing pedestrians.
Pair with that the fact Kaia had oversized black sunglasses perched on her nose and it's actually far from surprising she was oozing low-key glamour. Every A-lister (and us normal people, too) knows a pair of XL sunnies instantly elevates all attire. A sartorial secret weapon.
But I actually think the secret to Kaia's laid-back success lies in her choice of joggers. From the loose wide-leg cut to the rolled waistband, it's a cool update on the loungewear staple. Luckily, I've tracked down Kaia's exact trousers, the Accolade Straight-Leg Sweatpant from celeb-fave brand Alo Yoga, so we can fully recreate the off-duty model look to a T.
Cut to me this Sunday. If you think you see Kaia Gerber strolling down your local high street, it's me. Unless you see Austin Butler too, then it's (sadly) definitely Kaia.
