Kate Middleton Greets King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla with an Honorary Curtsy for the First Time
All hail their royal highnesses, King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla.
Earlier this month, members of the British royal family gathered to attend the second annual carol service held at Westminster Abbey. The event (hosted by Kate Middleton) was dedicated to the late Queen Elizabeth II and her memory was honored throughout the service.

Princess Catherine greeted her in-laws once they arrived at the event, kissed both of their cheeks and did an honorary curtsy in front of them. This is the first time the Princess of Wales has greeted the royal couple with the traditional gesture in public—since it’s only been a few months since His Majesty ascended the throne following the death of his mother. Come next spring, King Charles will be officially crowned as the King of England. The honorary ceremony is set to be held on May 6, 2023, at Westminster Abbey in London. Unlike the late queen’s coronation, Camilla will be crowned alongside her husband at the celebration. She will be the first Queen Consort in almost a century to be crowned in Westminster Abbey.
According to People, King George VI’s wife, Queen Elizabeth (also known as The Queen Mother), was named the new Queen Consort in 1937. During Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation, her husband, Prince Philip, did not receive a crown alongside her. So, this will be a very high honor for Queen Consort Camilla.
