Kate Middleton had an emotional but uplifting message for her 16.8 million Instagram and 2.9 million X followers in honor of World Cancer Day after being diagnosed with the disease nearly a year ago. And, to make the commemoration even more special, she shared a photo of herself that was taken by none other than her youngest son, Prince Louis.

The photo of Princess Kate was taken in nature and sees her standing on a large tree trunk in the middle of the woods with her hands spread out on either side. Kate smiles wide, as the sun sets behind the trees, clad in a forrest-green trench coat, charcoal-gray pants, a matching scarf, black riding boots, black knit mittens, and a dark-green hat. She has her hair styled down and natural and appears to be wearing minimal makeup.

The mom-of-three revealed Louis, 6, was the creative behind the camera, in her short but powerful caption.

"Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease. C #WorldCancerDay," she wrote. Kate also included a second photo of ferns in the winter time with the same message scribed over it.

Cancer recognition is, of course, a cause close to Middleton's heart, having announced her own diagnosis last year on March 22. Kate spent much of the past year receiving treatment and preventative chemotherapy. However, in good news, she announced on September 9 that she had completed her treatment, and last month, she shared that she is officially in remission.

"It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery," she wrote in a January 14 post. "As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support."

Ferns have been one of Kate's go-to symbols throughout her health journey. The plant is commonly believed to represent new life, resilience, and endurance. Ferns were a motif throughout her video announcing the end of her chemotherapy treatments; she also wore fern earrings during an October outing.
