Burgundy has long been a favorite color for Middleton when it comes to her sartorial statements for various public royal engagements.
Last December, the royal went the monochrome route with her attire when the Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his wife Sheikha Jawaher traveled to London for their state visit to the U.K. For the special welcome reception, the Princess of Wales wore a bespoke burgundy coat courtesy of Alexander McQueen, one of Middleton’s favorite labels. She coordinated the look with a burgundy felt beret courtesy of Sahar Millinery and completed the ensemble with boots by Gianvito Rossi.
A visit to Southport Community Centre in Southport, England, in October also served as an ideal occasion for Middleton to show off her proclivity for burgundy styles. The royal wore a burgundy midi dress by London-based brand Whistles for the occasion, which she paired with a coat by Alexander McQueen.
Though Middleton’s royal wardrobe consistently gravitates toward traditional silhouettes and staple pieces, her approach to colorways and subtle sartorial statements has been an ever-evolving part of her attire.
