Kate Opens Up About 'Really Tough' Chemotherapy Chris Jackson

After admitting in September 2024 that she'd completed her chemotherapy treatment, the Princess of Wales revisited London's Royal Marsden Hospital today, which she confirmed was where she received her own treatment for the first time.

For those dealing with the disease, Kate shared both words of support and hugs, while for the hospital's staff, she extended her gratitude. As she arrived, Kate said it was nice to enter through the main entrance after 'having made so many quiet, private visits'.

Speaking to patients at the hospital, Kate advised them to keep 'doing the things that give you joy'.

Talking about her cancer diagnosis, Kate said: 'It makes you appreciate all the small things in life that you take for granted.'

'It's really tough,' she told one patient, who's in the middle of their treatment. 'It's such a shock.'

In March 2024, Kate confirmed that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy after tests following abdominal surgery had found that an undisclosed cancer had been present.

In September 2024, Kate shared a video to hers and Prince William's shared Instagram account announcing that she'd completed her chemotherapy treatment. 'The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you,' Kate said. 'With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.'

Kate added in the video that is looking forward to 'undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can' while remaining focussed on staying cancer-free.
