Kate Moss’s Sister Lottie Has Powerful Message About Loving Yourself

Lottie Moss, a model and younger sister of Kate Moss, shared a bikini photo on Instagram on May 19 — but it’s not what you might think. She wasn’t showing off how good she looks in a swimsuit or trying to make everyone envious that she’s vacationing in Greece.

Instead, Lottie paired her bikini photo with a message about body image and loving the skin you’re in. Her goal: to remind viewers that even models aren’t always confident about their seemingly perfect bodies.

“We may not all love our figure, we all have imperfections, but I have learnt to love mine,” she wrote. “I don’t have a small bum or huge boobs, but I’m happy that way.”

She added: “For any girls out there that think they need to Photoshop pictures or adjust things about themselves in an unsafe way need to know that nobody is perfect and although you go on Instagram and see loads of pictures of models that look amazing, I can tell you now it takes a lot of pictures, nice lighting, a flattering outfit, hair and makeup, etc., to do so!”

The body-positive post, which has garnered nearly 7,000 likes, resonated with many of Lottie’s more than 135,000 Instagram followers. Several users wrote, “Preach!” in response. Cakeandcaviar, who took Lottie’s post to heart, commented: “Hear hear!! It sounds so corny but beauty really comes from inside. But then again, it took me years to see that. When you learn to love yourself and accept yourself the way you are, you somehow radiate beauty.”

Instagram user withlovemara wrote, “Wonderful message. You’re such a role model,” while Charlemagne_xoxo put it this way: “Thanks for being so beautifully real.”

Interestingly enough, her sister Kate — who remains one of the world’s most famous models — popularized the waif and “heroin chic” look when she first became famous in the ’90s.
