Kathy Hilton Shares Secrets Behind Her Favorite Decoration at Her Famous Holiday Party: WATCH (Exclusive)

Kathy Hilton is spilling her party decor secrets just in time for the holiday season!

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 65, revealed her top tips for creating the perfect floral arrangements for any holiday bash in an exclusive video shared with PEOPLE.

She teamed up with UrbanStems ahead of her annual pajama party to talk about her favorite decoration of all time — flowers! — and share her tips for the perfect arrangement.

While working on her signature bouquets, Hilton chatted with the company’s floral designer, Justin Lievano, about why fresh flowers are a staple in her home when hosting events like her iconic holiday soirees.

“Flowers make me so happy,” she said, adding she thinks just having them around is "good for your mental health.”

Hilton shares one of her easiest tips, which actually stems from a “pet peeve.”

"You can have the same colors, but I don't want [my home] to look like a charity event, where every table looks the same,” she explains. Instead, Hilton says, every arrangement should be a little different.

She had to face her pet peeve head-on at a housewarming party for her daughter, Paris Hilton, 43, that opened her eyes to the importance of variation in each assortment.

“When Paris got her first home, she was having a party. This florist was like, ‘I will come in and do fresh flowers for you.’ In the entry is a flower arrangement. The same one was in the library, the living room, the dining room, her bedroom,” she remembers. “I’m like, honey… No, no, no."

Her favorite way to keep things original? Don’t be afraid to add fruit!

“I love to use fruit,” she says. “I love to use lemons, I love to use limes. If it’s a glass fish bowl, I’ll fill it with cranberries. I might have a big thing of grapes hanging down. I might have a plum here, an apricot there. Depending on the flowers, a miniature cabbage.”

For Kathy, choosing the right flowers for a holiday bouquet always comes down to her favorites: white ranunculus, white and red peonies, white anemones and “an assortment of garden roses.”

Another favorite tip is to add a sprig of rosemary. “Always in an arrangement, a little bit of rosemary is good luck,” she says.

Kathy notes that while her “favorite things in life” are “my husband, my children, my grandchildren,” as well as “jewelry, handbags, and shoes" — she truly can’t resist a stunning assortment of flowers.

She says the best arrangement she’s received was so good, she flew it home.

"I was in Las Vegas at the opening of a new resort,” she recalls. “I went into our suite and it was the most beautiful array of every kind of pink. They lasted for ten days. I of course took them on the plane with me. I’m like, ‘I’m not leaving these. They’re like my children.’”

In an Instagram Reel shared on Nov. 22, Kathy offered an inside look at her annual holiday pajama party that she hosted with daughter Nicky, 41. She also shares sons Barron, 35, and Conrad, 30, with husband Rick Hilton.

In the clip, viewers got a peek of her dazzling Christmas tree and the fresh flowers she had scattered all around her home.
