Katie Holmes (and her coat collection) is our winter style icon
Winter is notoriously hard to dress for, but the season instantly becomes stylish if you own a coat collection as fabulous as Katie Holmes’.
The actress is often spotted around New York City, where she makes frequent commutes to and from her performances in the Broadway production of Our Town. And while the cold weather may have some reaching for loungewear, Holmes has consistently bundled up in polished pieces, including oversized shearling coats and burnt-orange suede jackets. It’s safe to say she knows her way around outerwear, and of course, her latest ensemble doubles down on that fact.
As she stepped out on Friday, the Rare Objects director slipped into a luxurious black leather coat from Kuzyk, taking care to show off the jacket’s shearling lapels and cuffs. The fluffy coat nearly enveloped her fully, reaching down to her knees, while a roomy hood and large pockets helped her keep warm from the chilly air.
Underneath her statement outerwear, Holmes stuck to her usual uniform, opting for a relaxed grey jumper and a pair of straight-leg blue jeans. In hand, she carried a black leather tote, and she completed her ensemble with white trainers, a black beanie, and a large pair of burgundy sunglasses.
When it comes to winter style, Holmes has nailed her now-signature chic and cosy look. Her daily fashion formula often includes a fun jacket and classic denim, all topped off with her favourite leather tote of the moment. Right now, the actor is keeping her rotation stacked with luxe finds, including a top-handle tote from Khaite and a capacious bag from Manu Atelier. And with just a week remaining of her Broadway show, we may be seeing less of Holmes — but she’ll always be our seasonal style inspiration.
