Kelly Clarkson is about to get a moment that some people “wait a lifetime” for: her very own talk show airing on NBC. The network has been gearing up to revampits talk show lineup this fall, and that includes adding in the brand new daytime show, titled The Kelly Clarkson Show, hosted by none other than the American Idol winner and judge on The Voice.

Fans of the pop singer have long known her as a bubbly and talkative performer with a good sense of humor, and it looks like NBC is hoping to channel that energy into an hour-long show that will highlight both regular people and celebrities.

The show has been in production for over a year, and, thankfully, both Clarkson and NBC have dropped some hints along the way as to what we can expect. So, here’s everything we know so far about The Kelly Clarkson Show.

When will the show air?

The Kelly Clarkson Show will be a daily one-hour program and is scheduled to premiere on Sept. 9 on NBC at 3 p.m., leading into The Ellen Degeneres Show on most stations.

What will the show’s format be?

The show’s Instagram account has dropped a few sneak peeks of the set, and it’s a bit different than your typical talk show. There will be no desk, giving the show a more comfy, at-home vibe. One photo specifically makes it look like Clarkson will be hanging out in her music studio.

Staying true to her roots, Clarkson said the show will involve plenty of music. In an interview with TV Insider, she explained that she’ll open each show by covering a song suggested by a person in the audience. Thankfully for Clarkson, she didn’t have to look very hard to find a house band for her new show — she’s bringing in her own band that she tours with, the singer explained during an interview on The Tonight Show.

Clarkson has said that she wants to use her show as an opportunity to “shine a light on organizations and people that get overlooked all the time,” so she’ll be featuring everyday people as well as the usual celebrity guests. The singer has also said that it’s important to her to get the audience involved, and plans to spend time talking with them between the opening song and her first guest.

What guests will be on The Kelly Clarkson Show?

No official guest list has been released yet, but a few names have been revealed. Clarkson said that, for the pilot, she interviewed actress Chrissy Metz and actor Terry Crews.

Simon Cowell has also teased a possible reunion of himself and the other original American Idol judges, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson, who first discovered Clarkson.

“We just talked about that earlier. With Paula [Abdul] and Randy [Jackson]. Yeah, the three of us,” Cowell told Us.

To ensure that she's featuring amazing everyday community members, The Kelly Clarkson Show website has a forum where you can submit yourself or someone you know to be a guest on the show. Producers are looking for pretty much everything including busy moms who need a break, small businesses that need saving, parents having trouble with their teens, people with amazing ride share stories, or even just all around amazing and selfless people.

Will Kelly Clarkson continue singing and making music?

Yes, Clarkson has said that she plans to continue touring and making more new music while hosting her talk show, and has adjusted her filming schedule to allow for this.

Will Kelly Clarkson continue to be a judge on The Voice?

Yes, Clarkson plans to continue judging on The Voice, where she came out swinging on her first season in 2018 and ended up with a winning team member. The singer has said that the studio for The Voice, is just a few doors away from the set of her new show, making it a bit easier to manage doing both shows at once.
