There's no shortage of skincare products available, but sometimes it's difficult to decide which brands to use — especially when they have a celebrity attached.

One of the newest celebrity skincare line comes from R&B superstar Alicia Keys, and it features a personal touch by adding affirmations to the back of each bottle. Keys Soulcare offers clean, cruelty-free products while being relatively affordable.

“We’re so busy all the time, I don’t think we create these small rituals for ourselves. Even the five minutes it takes to wash my face – creating that space for myself makes me feel more beautiful, more powerful, more possible," Alicia Keys says of her skincare line.

Keys Soulcare promises to champion clean skincare with skin-nourishing ingredients that leave your inner light shining and skin awakened so I had to try it out.

Right now, Keys Skincare is also included in Sephora's Spring Sale, where Beauty Insiders can score up to 20 per cent off, depending on their membership level. We have rounded up some of the top products from Keys Soulcare — and whether or not they're worth buying.

Melting Body Balm

Melting Body Balm - Sephora, $36
Melting Body Balm - Sephora, $36

This Melting Body Balm works to nourish your skin with shea butter and coconut oil moisturizer that melt from a body balm into an oil to help hydrate and soothe your skin. Use this body balm as soon as you step out of your shower and massage it in a circular motion until the balm melts.

Does it work?

This is my favourite product from the Keys Soulcare line. I have been using it for a few months now and it has quickly become my go-to when I get out of the shower. I love applying the balm over top of my tattoos to give them a glossy, vibrant look. This product reminds me of Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula but an upgraded version with less of an oily feel.

Renewing Body + Hand Wash with Manuka Honey

Renewing Body + Hand Wash with Manuka Honey - Sephora, $42
Renewing Body + Hand Wash with Manuka Honey - Sephora, $42

Keys Soulcare's Renewing Body + Hand Wash with Manuka Honey works as a two-in-one body wash and hand wash. It cleanses, purifies and nourishes skin while adding moisture and not drying out the skin. The scent is not too strong as it only has a subtle sage and oat milk fragrance. The Renewing Body + Hand Wash can also be used to create the perfect bubble bath with just three to four pumps.

Does it work?

After two years of washing my hands constantly, this hand wash has become my saving grace. I've been using it for about five months now, and I haven't had to deal with the dry feeling of overwashing my hands thanks to the blend of shea and cocoa butter.

Let Me Glow Illuminating Serum

Let Me Glow Illuminating Serum - Sephora, $40
Let Me Glow Illuminating Serum - Sephora, $40

This is a brand-new product from Keys Soulcare that can be used alone or as a smooth base for makeup. One of the key ingredients is rose water, which helps to hydrate and replenish dry skin. It also uses niacinamide to help brighten and balance the appearance of your skin.

Does it work?

I have just started to use this serum and I have been using it as a primer for my makeup instead of the sticky face primer I used to use. It feels more breathable than other primers and it also looks great by itself on your skin with no makeup with its sheer golden tint. The best part of this serum is the affirmation on the back of the bottle because it reads true: I give myself permission to glow.

Harmony Mask

Harmony Mask with Manuka Honey - Sephora, $48

If you're looking for a new charcoal face mask that purifies and hydrates your skin, Keys Soulcare has a great option. This face mask has a smooth scent of sandalwood and it helps to restore purity, harmony and balance to your skin.

Does it work?

I have had a much more pleasant mask experience with this one compared to other charcoal masks I've used before. I find that a lot of charcoal masks make your face extremely stiff and they don't smell the best. This one has an amazing scent and I'm not afraid to lather on a generous amount when using it because it doesn't act like concrete on my skin. My face feels smooth and clean after I wash this mask off with warm water.

Sacred Body Oil

Sacred Body Oil - Sephora, $40
Sacred Body Oil - Sephora, $40

This is one of the most popular items from Keys Soulcare. It's a lightweight, non-greasy body oil that works to hydrate, calm and nourish your skin with a blend of marula, baobab and jojoba oils. It also works to visibly brighten and make your skin look firmer.

Does it work?

While I do use this body oil often, I do find myself reaching for others for my face. This feels too thick and heavy to use on my face. But it works wonders on areas like elbows, heels, arms and anywhere that needs a little extra love and care. It has helped my feet get rid of their winterization, if you know what I mean. Now I'm ready to throw on a pair of strappy heels without fear of people taking a look at my ankles and heels.

Mind-Clearing Body Polish

Mind-Clearing Body Polish - Sephora, $44
Mind-Clearing Body Polish - Sephora, $44

Keys Soulcare Mind-Clearing Body Polish is an exfoliating body scrub made with sunflower seed oil and bamboo charcoal. The bamboo charcoal removes dirt and excess oil from the skin and the sunflower seed oil. This body polish works to create smoother-looking skin.

Does it work?

It's in the name! I use this body polish a few times a week by applying the polish to my body and scrubbing with a long-handle body brush. It also works great as a shield to protect you from razor bumps or ingrown hairs by using it before you shave. There is no overwhelming scent so it will mix fine with your perfume instead of acting like a competition of scents all day long.

Radiant Eye Cream

Radiant Eye Cream - Sephora, $48
Radiant Eye Cream - Sephora, $48

The Radiant Eye Cream helps to battle fine lines, wrinkles and dryness. It locks in moisture and helps improve the look of the skin with peptides, sunflower seed oil and gold foil. Apply this under your eye and get ready to embrace a radiant-looking glow.

Does it work?

I use this eye cream day and night. I start by tapping it under my eye and if I have any extra on my finger I apply that to my eyelids and under my eyebrow. It definitely adds a lot of moisture to my skin but I wish the ingredients included vitamin C and SPF.
