Who is Jeremy Dufrene?
Dufrene operates as a captain for a tour boat company in Des Allemands, Louisiana, close to New Orleans, called Airboat Tours by Arthur. The tours focus on local wildlife and apparently the company has a good reputation. In his bio, Dufrene says he once worked at a chemical plant and enjoys shrimping.
'After a little convincing by his family, he got his captain’s licence and started running tours,' it continues.
According to People, Dufrene has three children, a son and two daughters.
How did Dufrene and Del Rey meet?
Del Rey made an appearance in one of Dufrene’s social media posts in 2019 after taking a tour of his while visiting for the BUKU Music + Art Project festival. In a now private post on Instagram, Dufrene wrote, 'I never know who I can run across on my tours but always a pleasure @lanadelrey.'
She also shared shots of him in Facebook posts, captioning them, 'Jeremy lemme be captain at Arthur’s Air Boat Tours.'
In May 2024, Del Rey reportedly took another tour. She tagged him in the caption of a photo with friends.
How long have they been dating?
In August 2024, they were spotted at Reading & Leeds Festival and were seen in a video on TikTok holding hands. They then headed to London for a visit to Harrod’s and a local pub, according to the Daily Mail. After the images circulated, Del Rey denied she and Dufrene were dating in a comment on TikTok, simply writing 'No' on a video about their alleged relationship. But it seems to now be a yes.
When did Del Rey and Dufrene get married?
People reported on September 26, 2024 that the couple obtained a marriage licence from the Lafourche Parish Clerk of Court on September 23. They had 30 days from that date to tie the knot.
The same day as People broke the news, Del Rey and Dufrene got married in Des Allemandes, Louisiana. They had their ceremony at the bayou where Dufrene works. Daily Mail obtained photos of Del Rey walking with her father there, wearing a ruffle neckline gown with a full skirt. She had a blue ribbon tied in her hair, which was styled in a side ponytail.
Another source told People that the couple chose a place close to their hearts for the ceremony.
'The wedding ceremony and reception were both held in the same bayou where Jeremy operates his swamp boats tours,' said the insider. 'This is where they first met. It’s a special place for them. It was a beautiful, relaxed and family focused wedding. The focus was just on their love story.'
The source shared more about their love story, saying that Del Rey and Dufrene 'initially met a few years ago the first time and then reconnected earlier this year.'
They added, 'It’s been kind of a whirlwind romance, but Lana’s close friends hoped she would get married. Jeremy is different from the men that Lana meets in the entertainment world. He’s a great guy. He’s charming and charismatic in a Southern way, very much a gentleman and he treats Lana really well. She’s an old soul.'
Del Rey reportedly found her dress for the ceremony at a local boutique in New Orleans, months before even going public with her and Jeremy Dufrene's relationship.
Unlike most stars that opt to get custom gowns made from designers like Vera Wang called Vintage Market by Trashy Diva, purchasing it in May. A source told TMZ that it’s 'unclear whether Lana strolled into the store specifically hunting for a wedding dress, but after trying on a bunch of other stuff, she ended up falling for the dress she spotted in the window'.
The insider didn’t know the price, but they estimated that £306 is the 'typical price range for wedding dresses at the store, which features curated styles from the 1920s to Y2K.'
