LaPointe Fall 2025: A High Energy Celebration

On Sunday afternoon, Sally LaPointe took over the official National Basketball Players Association practice court in Midtown Manhattan and turned the energy in the room up to a 10. Or perhaps a 15 — the fall runway spectacular, featuring a dance performance by the hot pink-clad group Supa Girlz, kicked off the brand’s yearlong 15th anniversary.

Her collection was the most amplified version of the brand’s well-known DNA — bold, colorful, fun and edgy — and symbolized her overarching theme of endurance.

“It’s very synonymous with sport, so I started looking into the meaning of that. Having agility and being able to withstand hardships and perfecting your craft over time,” LaPointe told WWD leading up to her show of its tie between sport and fashion. The pep rally feel throughout the show played to the theme, as did the collection’s adorable crystallized basketball handbags.

The clothes were bold, bolder, boldest from day to night, rooted in LaPointe’s signature head-to-toe monochrome ethos, with plenty of pizzazz. Feathers, sequins, sparkles and fur galore — these were looks that begged to be on stage.

“I’m getting the chaps in every color, starting with the pink,” singer Monica told WWD backstage post-show of the collection’s hot pink feather-emblazoned chaps. (They also came in leopard calf hair, liquid stretch sequin and stretch faux leather.) The artist said she’s been wearing LaPointe’s clothes during her performances for years, and was excited finally to meet the designer in person.

“I’m so inspired by a woman that is able to do what she’s done and create what she’s created. When I’m on stage, everyone is always complimenting the colors, and the show was such an amazing reflection of that,” she said.

Indeed it was. LaPointe’s palette was a playful mix of acidy green, yellow and hot pink with cognac red, browns and blacks across a, “really good mix between the archival, OG LaPointe inserted with newness,” LaPointe said. For instance, a georgette caped black liquid stretch sequin jacket with matching right leggings; skin-tight bodysuits with feather adorned skirts; party dresses that ranged from body-con to fluid, and plenty of ultra-fun outerwear in plush fur, leopard calf, vinyl, organza and more.

“I got to have fun with this collection,” LaPointe said. Swish!
