There are less than 100 days 'til Christmas (I know, but it’s true!), and you know what that means: It’s officially early enough to start planning your holiday menus. I’m all about the Christmas cookies and holiday mains, but nothing gets me quite in the holiday spirit like a glass of something festive and boozy. To channel my excitement for everything the season ahead has to bring (Snow days! Presents! Christmas movies!), I've compiled a list of our best holiday cocktails that always get me into the spirit of the season. Forget 25 Days of Christmas—these 12 cocktails are the best way to get into holiday mode, whether you’re sipping now or the day of.

These may be holiday-themed, but many of these cocktails easy enough (and filled with year-round ingredients) that you can enjoy them from now until the holiday. So get into the season now—these deserve to be enjoyed way beyond December.

Cranberry-Aperol Spritz

Cranberry adds a festive, blood-red twist to your favorite cocktail, the Aperol spritz. If you don't want it to be too sweet, you can swap the cranberry juice cocktail for 100% cranberry juice.

Scrooge Sour

Scrooge may have been sour-hearted, but a sip of this warming (yet chilled) winter cocktail would’ve been just the trick to turn his frown upside-down. To make it, we take inspiration the holiday classic, mulled wine, to make a simple syrup that takes this sour cocktail to new festive heights.
