Having gathered with his family – as people tend to on 25 December – the Formula One champ popped a new video on his Instagram account.

In it, he begins by filming himself saying ‘I’m so sad right now…look at my nephew.’

He then flipped the camera round to show his little nephew, who was having the time of his life in a princess dress as he brandished a wand, wearing a princess outfit.

Hamilton, 32, then decided to shout the boy down: ‘Why are you wearing a princess dress? Is this what you got for Christmas? Why did you ask for a princess dress for Christmas, boys don’t wear Christmas dresses!’

Luckily, the kid didn’t seem fazed, and carried on enjoying himself.

Maybe he thought it was funny, but it received a mountain of backlash from Instagram users – so much so that he’s since deleted the post.

But the internet wasn’t done there.

Some were quick to note how the F1 driver likes to stand out himself, with the clothes he wears.

Other Twitter users weren’t amused by his reaction and proceeded to voice how wrong his decision was to shame the child.

This Twitter user, who ripped and shared the video from his Instagram, wasn’t happy by his attitude.

And it seemed plenty agreed with the sentiment…

People argued that the boy was just having fun, and should’ve been left to do just that.

With people still angry over the alleged tax-dodging headlines he made earlier in the year, it appears Lewis Hamilton is seeing out 2017 in last position, when it comes to popularity at least.
