Former supermodel Linda Evangelista has made her return to modelling, revealing that she is 'grateful' to be back in front of the camera for the first time since a fat freezing procedure left her 'brutally disfigured'.

Taking to social media, the 57-year-old shared a photo of herself in the latest Fendi campaign, and captioned the post: 'On September 9 2022 @Fendi will host a special fashion show in New York City to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the #FendiBaguette, designed by @silviaventurinifendi, and two years since @mrkimjones joined the Maison as Artistic Director of Couture and Womenswear.'

In the photo, Linda poses with an array of Fendi hats and bags, and appears to have regained her supermodel confidence – something which she previously admitted to having lost after a cosmetic procedure went wrong.

To recap, in February Linda revealed that she was no longer going to 'hide in shame' after a fat dissolving procedure left her 'brutally disfigured'. Last year, the former supermodel said she had essentially become a recluse after the procedure, which was supposed to decrease fat cells, had allegedly 'increased' her cells and left her 'unrecognisable'.

Linda also claimed that she had been left 'permanently deformed' and had to undergo 'two painful, unsuccessful, corrective surgeries'.

Later opening up to People about her decision to go public with the ordeal, she said: 'I loved being up on the catwalk. Now I dread running into someone I know. I can't live like this anymore, in hiding and shame. I just couldn't live in this pain any longer. I'm willing to finally speak.'

Linda went on, 'Why do we feel the need to do these things [to our bodies]? I always knew I would age. And I know that there are things a body goes through. But I just didn't think I would look like this.

'I don't recognise myself physically, but I don't recognise me as a person any longer either. She [the supermodel] is sort of gone,' the 56-year-old added. 'I hope I can shed myself of some of the shame and help other people who are in the same situation as me. That's my goal.'
