Local chef opens the second location for his latest restaurant concept near Belleville

Smoke & Kettle, the newest concept by David Sandusky, opens this week at a second location.

Featuring a menu of fish and chicken dishes, as well as some barbecue, Smoke & Kettle was originally supposed to open at the Catholic War Veterans Post 370 between Belleville and Smithton earlier this month.

The opening date was pushed back for logistical reasons, according to owner and chef David Sandusky, who declined to go into detail.

But Smoke & Kettle will officially open for business Thursday at 3535 South Route 159.

Hours will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday to start and may expand at some point, said Sandusky.

He said the menu will consist mainly of fish, chicken and, of course, barbecue and be tweaked as he finds the things that people connect with.

In addition to the Catholic War Veterans, Smoke & Kettle also has a location at the KC Club & Event Center, 5420 Old Collinsville Road, O’Fallon.

Smoke & Kettle in O’Fallon opened full time in late May. Hours for Smoke & Kettle at the KC Club & Event are 4-8 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday.
