Luke Perry's Son Jack Drops Out of Wrestling Show Following His Father's Sudden Death

Luke Perry‘s son Jack is mourning the death of his father.

One day after the Riverdale and Beverly Hills, 90210 actor died from a “massive stroke” at age 52, Bar Wrestling announced that Jack, who wrestles professionally under the moniker “Jungle Boy,” had pulled out of their upcoming show.

“Unfortunately Jungle Boy will no longer be wrestling at our March 13th show. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family at this time,” the wrestling organization wrote in a tweet on Tuesday.

Jack, 21, whose in-the-ring persona is a Tarzan-esque character, complete with his mane of long curls and loin cloth-like shorts, has yet to publicly comment on the death of his father.

Luke was hospitalized after suffering a stroke on Feb. 27. A source tells PEOPLE he never regained consciousness. The actor remained “under observation” for five days but died on Monday, March 4.

Jack announced in January he was signed by All Elite Wrestling, a professional wrestling promotion.

The 5’ 10,” 150-pound athlete began pursuing professional wrestling as a senior in high school and was careful not to let his father’s fame overshadow his own success, according to Sports Illustrated.

“My family is a part of who I am, but I’m trying to make my own way. I don’t want to use (my father’s fame) to be successful, I want to have my own success,” he said.

The actor’s friend and 90210 costar Shannen Doherty exclusively told PEOPLE that Luke was a proud pop who frequently bragged about his children’s achievements.

“Luke loved his family. He raved about his kids and how proud he was of them,” she said. “He showed me videos of them often. They were his heart and for him, his biggest accomplishment.”

Shortly after news of his stroke broke, Perry’s 18-year-old daughter Sophie also made a quick return from a trip abroad to be by her father’s side.

A source told PEOPLE that Sophie was in Africa when her father fell ill and rushed to Los Angeles before his death.

On Tuesday, Sophie broke her silence regarding her father’s death in an emotional post on Instagram.

“A lot has happened in this past week for me,” she captioned her post. “Everything is happening so fast. I made it back from Malawi just in time to be here with my family, And in the past 24 hours I have received an overwhelming amount of love and support.”

“I cannot individually respond to the hundreds of beautiful and heartfelt messages, but I see them, and appreciate you all for sending positivity to my family and I,” she continued. “I’m not really sure what to say or do in this situation, it’s something you aren’t ever given a lesson on how to handle, especially when it’s all happening in the public eye. So [bear] with me and know that I am grateful for all the love. Just, being grateful quietly.”

In lieu of flowers, the Perry family asks that donations be made to Fight Colorectal Cancer and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
